i just mean that it's really a lot of rumor... i swore i would never camp for a console, and i did it once but still didnt get one, so i'm very wary to do so again.

I am totally right there with you, MonkeyJamboree!  I have never camped for a console, and told myself I wouldn't, but at this point in the game, I really, really, really want one. . .  My aunt got me a memory card and a game wallet for X-mas.  I also have Twilight Princess (which I ordered the morning the Wii came out) sitting in my bedroom.  It has come to the point where I may camp.

Ew. . .

P.S. I agree that this weekend's shipment is all about rumors, but when the rumors are all you have, what else do you do?  The stores are zero help, which is why this thread was started in the first place.  This entire thread and the past 1,339 posts have basically been based on rumors.  It sucks, but we cannot do much more than suck away. . .  (And get angry.)

i've been like alot of you out there . . . searching for the wii for tha past few weeks . . . wasting away on this forum, depressed, and almost gave up hope for getting one this year. but today i finally got one!! the one rumor that actually proved true was 'Best Buy'. okay, here's my story, hope it helps some of you out there. last week i went to CC on Fri. where i was told that they would be selling 6 wii's from their shipment of 21 they were getting Sat. morning. as such, i camped out with my brother starting at 11pm that night!! (we wanted to make sure we were first in line) as the store opened tha next day, me, and the 30 other people waiting were surprised when no vouchers were given out before opening! they just let everyone in! when we finally got in, the manager told us that the shipment was still "in transit" and could arrive anytime in the next couple of days!! when we asked about the guarenteed 6 wii's they were supposed to have, the manager said that they didnt have any. but as i walking around the store i overheard some of workers talking about how some of the other employees had first picks on the wii's and had bought them earlier!!! man, i was pissed! i almost gave up the wii search right there and then. then earlier today 12/27/06 my bro told me about the rumor that BB had some today . . . grudgingly i decided to check it out. it was 11am, and first i wanted to stop by CC to see if that shipment came in yet . . . it did, yesterday, and they sold it all. then driving to BB i saw a FedEx truck in front of Gamestop, so i stormed there only to find that they sold the 3 they received this morning! by the time i got to BB it was noon, and i had no hope of finding one. i went first to the return section, waited in line for 15mins. and asked the person there if anyone had returned a Wii, she replied no, but someone did return a ps3. just as i was about to leave the store, i decided to check out the games section to check out the ps3 graphics. while looking at it an employee asked me if i needed any help, i grumbled that i was looking for a Wii and she told me that she had just gotten the shipment in 2minutes ago!! i could barely believe it! she got me mine and as i went into the counter to buy it, the BB clerks there were all in a frenzy complaining that the store wouldnt reserve one for them to buy! (unlike the maggots in CC) within 10 minutes all 21 of the Wii were sold!

so my advice to all is, check Best Buy daily!! the magic time seems to be at around noon. and ask all the employees, dont stop at just one. be4 i asked the employee who gave it to me, 5 minutes before my brother asked another guy, and he just lazily told him that they were gonna be sold out until next year! (so either some employees are mean spirited . . . uninformed . . . or both)

after all the weeks of hell, playing the Wii all day 2day, i can honestly say that it was worth it. i dont kno how the ps3 or xbox360 can compete with the ingenuity of the Wii . . . its as close to real virtual gaming as ever!!

C-Tru does have a point there. Best Buy employees themselves aren't allowed to buy the consoles from the store, so you know most of those stores won't be full of corrupt people. almost every other store out there (EB, Gamestop, WalMart) doesn't have that kind of a policy, but i'm kinda glad that BB does. regardless of that, we have only 3 stores locally that might have Wiis (Walmart, Meijer, and a local Game shop), all the other stores (best buy, TRU, CC, etc...) are quite a drive, so just goin on up to the 'local' store really isnt that good of an option. every local store has told me that they won't get them for at least a month, and i am almost positive that they're "mean spirited . . . uninformed . . . or both" and my bet is more on mean spirited or greedy. stores REALLY should have more ethics when it comes to employees getting the first grabs for things that they'll end up selling for a huge profit anyway.

I'm really hoping my bb gets them on sunday. I have to work a half day tomorrow and by time I get to a bb it will be 1 or 2 in the afternoon. My only hope is sunday, but I hate the thought of sitting outside for 5 hours before the store opens in the cold. I know so many people will laugh at me for doing so! I called my bb last night and they said call back we should have some on sunday, I know it will be a mob scene

But think of the bragging rights you'll have, mel!!  Like I said earlier, I never, EVER thought myself as one of the crazies that would camp out a few hours before the stores open, but desperate times call for desperate measures. . .

Well, it is possible that these shipments could arrive earlier than Friday, so keep those phonelines in good use. I'll update the quantities in about 4 hrs.

I was just up at Best Buy, and they got their shipment last night or earlier, because they handed out tickets today. i was #12 out of the tickets, but i'm not sure how many they had! go get em NOW!

Darn it, how does everybody except me find out about these shipments except for me?? I'll never get one now... I'll try calling just for the heck of it though...

my friend who works there was just as suprised... he got a call back from his manager, who said they still had 18 in stock. good luck! i hope Wii are abundant before '07!

I just ran out to my best buy here in decatur, Il when I read the post. They did not have any as of yet but the guy I talked with said they had been notifed this week they would be getting a shipment in the next 10 days so check back daily.

He also told me that they were to get two more shipments in January and that this Sundays flyer would feature the PS3.

in my experience, calling never worked because most of the time the employees would just give me the run around saying ambigious things like "it'll come any day now" and rush me right off the fone as i was trying to get more info. for straight facts and the best chance of scoring a Wii, just go to the store in person. i kno it seems like a hassle, but i did this until i got lucky and scored one at BB. most shipments come in at random times around noon, and you just have to be there to get it. from what i hear from people, BB is your best chance to score one be4 next year. good luck!

LOL Johnny, I know the feeling. I'm getting to that point myself.

I went to BB and missed getting a Wii by mere minutes. I now have no confidence left in any part of myself. This is really messed up, I was supposed to be the first out of my friends to get it, and they've all had one for weeks now. All except me. My signature is nothing but the truth.

i've lost all hope. i called my bb last night to see if they had got a shipment of wiis in that day, they guy had said no they had not. so i was like yes there is hope. but i justed called today to see if they had got any yet and the same guy i talked to told me that they had gotten a shipment in mid afternoon yesterday. that justed killed me cause that means they wont get any in on sunday. i might just give up and wait til march, when i can walk in and pick one up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also i find it funny, that at the end of last month I had two chances to buy a wii, but at the time i had no money. it seems like the less i look the more i find, so maybe i'll give it a rest for awhile iand hope i find one
