It's been said before but it's worth repeating
on't bother calling stores. The info you receive is less than 50% accurate. Given that most stores sell out of stock within 10-15mins of releasing a shipment you need to use a different strategy. Chat it up with a sales associates that have a clue, or better the store manager. Learn their shipment patterns and swoop in when you know there is a higher probability that their will be Wii's coming in using info on this thread or other places like Amazon's Wii page.

Alright, everyone. Here is the scoop with at least the Bloomington, IL Best Buy store (#049). . . I naively stopped in to see if they had a Wii shipment today. Luckily, my friend who is the electronics associate was working and I gave him a pat on the back to have a little chat about the Wii situation. (He knew what was coming.) He told me that the last shipment of Wiis came in on Wednesday and they were sold as soon as they came into the store. He added that unless the Wii is in the week's ad, they WILL NOT HOLD THEM FOR SUNDAYS, as previously mentioned by Piraatbill and others. However, I then asked him if it would most likely stay that they get shipments on Wednesdays. . . He told me that they can come in any day and that, again, they will be sold as soon as they get them into the store.
He also said that as of today, they did not have a new order in for any Wiis. Furthermore, he said that they usually put in a new order every week and it usually takes about five days after the order is made for the shipment to come into the store. Further-furthermore, he said that the shipments usually come into the store between 11am and 1pm, so that would be my best bet as to getting my hands on one.
So this is the deal with at least this Best Buy. Basically, Wiis are free game now and any patterns that may have taken place during the Holidays are now deceased. It sucks (especially since I usually work in the afternoon when the shipments are made), but it does not seem like there is much else to do other than stop into your Best Buy everyday between 11am and 1pm to see if they had any shipments.
A good strategy to use, however: if you know when the shipment came into the store, plan on there being at least a five day interval before the next shipment comes. There is the small chance that they made another order before the first order was completed, but I somehow think that any store, Best Buy or otherwise, is not allowed more than one shipment at a time. The Wii is a rare specimen, afterall.
Sorry this is long and most likely drawn out, but I just wanted everyone to know the situation for at least this single store (but I would have to believe that the same goes for every Best Buy. And no, I am sorry to say I have no clue on how Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, EB, or Game Stop (and any others I may have left out) work their stores.

Ok Well I got mine two days ago at K-mart,they dont know what days they will get them in but they do get a few(1-3) once a day.So pretty much memorize your local k-marts phone number and call them in the morning or at 5pm,thats about when they get them so good luck.
OMG... 5 PM? My mom went to K-Mart around that time... I'm praying that I get one... thanks for giving me a few glorious seconds to think that I had a chance...

Unfortunately, BB will not be getting them Sunday, and as far as I know, they have not even placed an order for more yet. Looks like we're both out of luck unless we can stand paying insanely high prices for one, which I for one would not be allowed to do. Maybe I could buy a PS3 and trade it for a wii rofl... nah, I wouldn't buy a PS3. Sorry man, I'll try to find the next shipment... I want one really badly too... but if you're extremely lucky you could find one at K-Mart, they might have gotten them at 5:00, that's the shipment time for some stores, though I'm not sure if any of them got wiis today...

im not really the best person on the phone but when you do ask, whats the best way of getting to find out about the wii?
like asking for the manager or the electronics department or the electronics manager or just ask the person who answered the phone =\
Hmmm... well, a good way is to ask when they get wiimotes in, since they usually know about it and they usually ship with the wiis themselves. Helpful little tip there
I'm at the point now where I'm just going to start randomly stopping into Best Buy on the way home from work and hope for the best. Let's hope the insanity subsides now that the holiday season is done with.

EB games stocks them sporatically, but you have to be really lucky to snag one. I don't know much about Zellers, but if your Wal-Mart didn't get a shipment after Christmas yet, my assistant manager told me they should get them sometime on or before December 31, so it should be the same for you, since they should all be linked. Ok thanks, I'll call them all tomorow morning, I was in Zellers yesterday and they had a sign saying they were sold out. Sigh (Zellers is like a Canadian Wal-mart thing if people don't know).
wii...say what? i havn't been back to the forum for a while due to the holidays. i must say, during this time, i feel so free of the wii search burden and don't feel so depressed anymore. anyway...i don't even check out the wii news anymore. i'll just wait til whenever it is available later on. right now, it's time to spend with friends and family. speaking of...time to head over my friends for some lan warcraft action. my suggestion, no wii, no worries....stop reading the forum would make things easier.
I'm totally bumbed. I checked with my target late afternoon and they already received/soldout of their shipment. The other target close to me received a surprise shipment today and they soldout in 5 mins. I tried amazon.com this morning and wasted 3 hours for nothing because they soldout in 30 seconds. The GameStop near me was suppose to get a shipment today but did not. And now I'm torn between camping outside of BB and Target on Sunday in the hope they will get some more. Ugh. I did however pick up an extra wiiremote and numchuck after work today, but still with no Wii, it's not that exciting
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. I live in the Bay Area (east bay to be exact) and I have called everyday to try and get a Wii with no luck....
