Target Wii Seekers:

The Target employees and customer service managers at my local Target were very nice, professional and helpful today.
I received an email overnight from Target.com and this information I had verified this morning is accurate. I do not know if it only applies to stores in Michigan, since the information came from an employee of Target.com. I assume it's also for any Target in the USA. Now, the inventory list I just posted was for the Michigan stores that has/had it in stock as of Jan 1.
I had a customer service manager check in their system for me with the information from my email from Target.com to see if any other stores had it in stock. Apparently only customer service can do this, not the employees or the video game dept or you can call Target Guest Relations on your own. Several stores got shipments in on Sunday and put the Wii's on shelves Monday morning, that was confirmed as true.

The general information to help you all find that Wii is below, I am still seeking one, as both stores near me do not have any in stock.
Now copy and paste into notepad and print if off, take it with you, OR call the number provided below and get your Wii,
I sure hope I am able to help someone today find a Wii, I will be going back out to check the afternoon, "possible shipment" at the store.

COPY/PASTE anyway you prefer:
-----
Can you check if any other stores has this product in for me, and if it can be held? Thank You.
DPCI number (207-25-0001)
-----

FYI: They will enter the number and print off locations near that store that has it in, BEFORE you leave, ask them to 'write down' how many each store has in stock, and as of what date/time. It will not be printed on the paper, they need to write it out for you the number left in stock. If customer service does not, or will not call on your behalf, you do have the ph# of those stores on the printout for your own use.

DO NOT talk loudy what product this is (Wii) as to not raise everyone's hopes in line, or you'll get crushed. :o)
I was in a mostly empty store around 8:30am, so I could ask openly if they could check other stores if they had Wii's in.

Below is the excerpt of the email I got from Target.com:

we'll be happy to help you track down this item in one of our stores. Your best bet is to take this DPCI number (207-25-0001) to your nearest Target store and ask a team member to point you to the closest store that may have the item.

Or, if you aren't able to make it to a store, our Guest Relations team might be able to help you out. You can reach them Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Central time, at (800) 440-0680. Please reference the above mentioned DPCI number when you call them.

GOOD LUCK everyone. I am heading back out soon to look.
I ran a 5k Monday morning and on the way back stopped at Target and they didn't have any and didn't have any before I got there.

o0o sounds very helpful
but that would mean you would need to check daily?
like what if no stores have in it stock that day....
but atleast its a true confident way of actually finding one ^^
thanks a lot !

No dice if you're waiting for one from Best Buy any time soon, I'll let yall know as soon as something appears on the horizon.

Yay for runners!

with most stores, it is random when they get shipments. if you would ask me, i would say to try wednesday and friday between 12pm and 1:30pm. good luck, you wii-less people! Toungue
yea i'll be at two different targets in the morning...one at 8 and another around 820 or so....hopefully tomarrow will be the day
I have a question... anyone know if Nintendo World in NYC is still getting a shipment everyday? Can someone tell me how many they get a day because it's getting ridiculous having to check target, BB, CC everyday. If i can just wait in the city I wouldn't mind that at all...
If anyone has any info as to what time to go and what are the chances if they get one everyday, let me know, thanks a lot!
2 targets this morning....still no wii
I was at Target today and stopped by the electronics and asked if they planned on getting anymore Wii's in here soon and the guy told me to constantly check back between now and Friday. I already have a Wii but I thought I would check for all of you still looking for one. I am live in the St. Louis area. Also I have a buddy that works at Walmart and he said he talked to one of his managers and she said possibly next week. So I hope that maybe helps some of you out.
I checked target today also at 11am and no dice. I am starting to wonder if Nintendo has held back some shipments to make sure the new straps are bundled with them.
The new straps have been in the mix for awhile now. When I got mine back on the 22nd it already had the new strap on it. I believe they were putting the new straps on way before we heard about it in the media. They not only release this console in the US, but Europe, Canada, Japan, and many more also are awaiting these. Also I don't think they want to do what like Microsoft has done with the XBOX and make a butt load of them available and then they just sit on the shelves or in a warehouse somewhere. I believe they want the demand to be high, it all boils down to marketing. Anyway keep checking your target, find out when their shipment comes in and check daily. Also I know EB games around where I am at was getting a shipment weekly. I happened to get mine at a CC. They were nice enough to tell me that they were in fact getting a shipment in, told me there were six in transit. She put my name on a list and I awaited in the store until the UPS guy got there. Well worth the wait.
Just checked my target at lunch here in Decatur, Illinois(central Illinois) and they had a full stock. I asked how many they had and she said they got 28 of them. The shelf was full and plenty more in the back room. My long awaited search is over. I have alot of staff out sick today or I would leave early today and checkout the experience that everyone else has been enjoying. thanks to all of you on here that have been helping in this search. the ps3seeker/wii site says targets are to have them between today and friday. so be checking your local targets.

I wanna point out this information was the best I've seen yet for actually searching. I'm sure that others had already been doing this, and maybe I just got lucky. I called the Guest relations number and was given 4 stores in my area that had stock, 2 were "low" and 2 were "good". I called the first and closest store which had a "low" stock and they were sold out, my next call had some so I made the drive. When I got there 2 were in their locked case and one of the cashiers mentioned at least 3 more in the back.

Also of note when you call Guest Relations their numbers might be a little off. Get the information and call. They said that their computers take 24-48 hours to update in their computers. So call and get the numbers of the stores which have them and then call the store to make sure they actually do.

I got mine, and Zelda.....now to go play

just called eb games to see if they had any wiis, an the said no so i called three other stores the said but they had al gotten shipment in today. it was a long shot but i called one more eb and guess what, they had two in stock so i grab my keys got in my car hit the road and i was off. i was going like 85 on the highway, got to the mall park my car, then i ran as fast as i could to the store. i asked if they had any left and the lady said they had two still in stock. so i bought the second to last one there, she doubled bagged it just to make sure no one saw that i had one so i wouldn't get jacked. i just can't belive that i got one it has been hell tryin to find one, but i'm so happy i got it. dont give up hope on finding one cause i almost did and look it payed off for me maybe it will for you. good luck to everyone and thanks for all the help u have given me over the past weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just out of curiosity... when you call Target guest services with the number and such for the Wii, is it all automated, or do you talk to someone?

thanks!

The first bit is automated... it asks what you are calling about, etc.. once you push the phone button for question about merchandise they connect you with a person. (sounds like a phone farm in india or something 'cause the people are often hard to understand). The person will ask your name, address, phone number for "record keeping purposes" then they ask how they can help.. just give them the DPCI number and they will let you know whether or not the item is near you. I have used this 2 times only to find out that nobody within 100 miles has it but it IS useful if the timing is right... Thanks to the person who posted the info on this call center!!!

just called... they now have a special menu option about locating a wii, and if you select it they say they can't assist you in locating one. f that.
don't do the special menu for the wii.. just go thought the paces to find merchandise.. they won't give you s*** or anything by asking them for a wii.. I've done it twice now.. they are helpful
My recommendation, randomly check your gamestop / ebgames. I went to a gamestop (cuz I am anti-EB Games) today (yeah, I know they are the same company...but w/e). Well, they didn't say they had any (signs or anything, and they weren't out), but I saw the guy go in the back and grab a Wii for a lady w/ some kids. So I asked if he had any more, he said "1 left" and so then I bought it. This was at around 6pm today (Jan 3rd) in a Kansas City, MO area Gamestop. So just go in and ask directly I think is the best way.

I was surprised that this happened to me, but it did. I have it up on ebay now...I'm a very poor college student....but I'm only asking $300 starting bid for it, which for me just breaks even (8% tax here + ebay & paypal fees). You all may be upset at me for doing this...but I'm over $100,000 in debt cuz of college w/ no job yet....if I can make a quick $50 or whatever I will. Also, don't say I'm wasting my money, my Wii and games were presents from my parents for Christmas/Birthday/Graduation combination gift.

Well, thats my story for today.
