the coversations i have had with Walmarts in area (South East OHIO) differs from some of your posts.
1) Electronics manager has assurances from Nintendo rep that plenty of Wiis are available in the coming weeks
2) Wiis come in on truck on their own pallet in late afternoon/early evening no UPS or Fed Ex Wii shipments
3) Shipments are checked in 10 pm-ish and put out around midnight to 4
4)no holdbacks or hoarding
This info could be just a couple of store's philosophy and not company wide but it sounded legit to me.
I just checked the West Side Target in Madison, WI and they just received a good size shipment of them along with remotes
Hello once again. The 12+ you are seeing corresponds with last Sunday's advertisement, that there was a minimum of 12 per store. It seems to be a safe bet that Best Buy on Sunday's is a good pattern.
My reasoning for why Target would be holding back some units, is again, to build a number of consoles close to launch numbers so they can advertise a per store minimum. It looks like every store will be getting something by the end of the week. (Target and Best Buy on Sunday are pretty much secure).
As for walmart, it seems to be area dependant. All different locations seem to be doing different things. My location is wierd like that, and no one there will tell me anything.

Indeed, I called EB a couple of hours ago and he did say to be there Friday so im guessing thats a litle confirmation that atleast some EB's are expecting to have some on the shelf for opening time Friday,he wouldnt really go into detail about how many they expect to have or anything just said to come in early Friday

Just talked to the manager at Walmart in South Knoxville, TN (Chapman Highway) and she guaranteed that they will have wii's on Thursday night and start selling them at midnight (technically Friday morning)! I don't know if anybody lives in the area, but if you do come on down and wait in line so I don't get too bored!

I was surprised, I started my normal "Ok well, thank you... bye" and by the time I said "OK" she interrupted me and said they would be selling them at midnight on thursday! It makes for a good day!
Potomac Mills Walmart - Guy in electronics confirmed that they do have some but are holding to put them out Dec 6th. It is a 24-hr store and he presumed that at midnight they would be available but not in a release type situation with tickets - just wait in line for your chance to buy.

I just got back with my Wii! They received 100 units at noon and by close to 2pm they were down to 19!
I also picked up an extra remote and nunchuk, and two classic controllers.

I talked to about ten ebgames today, Turns out that if they were to get a shipment by friday they would have seen it in the computer today (tuesday). I guess there is a four day shipping time, meaning for planned shipments, Eb will know four days in advance. The guy said that Friday is a possibility still and it oculd arrive then. Another guy told me to call again on Tuesday next week and see how the next week looks. By then I should have one from Best Buy / Target. Oh well

i've been reading this forum for the past few days and thanks for all the useful information. i'll be checking out bestbuy (again) first thing sunday morning, hopefully there won't be a long line like this past sunday. i called two local wal-marts here, one gave me the generic "we have no clue" answer, and the other was kind enough to check for me. she confirmed the dec. 6 date that the wii's will go on sale. it seems like not all wal marts will sell the wii at the same time. so it's best to call them. i also contacted three different targets. two said their next shipment is "sometime before christmas" and the other said they don't know exactly when but they're expecting a shipment soon. also an eb game at a local mall said they're expecting a shipment at the end of the week. and one game crazy said some will be delivered sometime this week. the rest of the eb/gamestop/game crazy have given me the typical "we don't know."

I went at 8:00am to local Target opening and they did not have any. Also called 2 other Targets and nada.
After checking this Thread in afternoon, I called 3 Targets around me and !!
Andover (MN) had only 2 left from afternoon shippment, while another Store (Fridley, MN) said they got 30 in this afternoon.
So I called my wife and she was driving home from work
And she stopped by just 10 minutes ago and Got Wii for me and kids!!
She said they had about 8 left on shelf from 30.. And saw 2 guys running in and getting theirs too.
So its would be good idea to call local Targets!

Does anyone have a time on the afternoon shipments to Target?
I just got done talking to a lady at Target and she said to call first thing in the morning because there might be some Wiis in their truck tonight. So I guess Target is starting to send them out to their stores, it will only be a couple days before they all get them.
//EDIT: Answered my own question, Sublime posted about it saying to check at noon.
Yeah I live in Western New York, out by Buffalo and the Targets didnt have any either
