Also, I wouldn't take things for granted. Sure all the hardcore campers already have their Wiis, but still get there early because there are still the jerks who buy them just to sell them on Ebay.

lol yea dont count on it. on dec. 29th i waited out bestbuy and was there for 12 hours and was still the 20th person there that was buying at wii. and there was only 20 wiis so i was lucky. and so many other people tryed coming a couple hours before the store opened and they were like #40. so yea just go wait for 10 hours or so outside even though youll probably be on going in the brink of going insane waiting out in the cold for that long but its worth it in the end (if you get one).
btw- if anyones planning to go wait outside over night where its really cold like where i am in canada wear like 10 pairs of socks and the biggest boots you ahve. i learnt the hard way.

I went to walmart and there were no wiis, not even any controllers/ accessories (except for 1 third party wiimote glove). there were 3 60gb ps3s though lol

This Sunday, Jan 21st, Circuit Citys are supposed of be getting a shipment of Wiis in, plus there is a printable coupon for $40 off.

I just did a quick scan of completed eBay auctions and there are PAGES and PAGES of auctions with no bids, so I'm hoping that's a sign that the eBay market is getting flooded with them and the scalpers will move on to something else. My cousin makes his living selling video game stuff on eBay and I gave him a call yesterday to see if he had any advice/new info. He wasn't even aware of this current shipments because he just isn't interested in buying/selling Wiis anymore.

Maybe I'm just being overly optimistic, but I'm really hoping that getting there just a few hours before opening will be good enough. I just called our area Best Buy and they actually gave me more info than just "we don't have any right now". She came right out and said they were going on sale on Sunday and that they had 51 to sell.

If for instance my local Target opens up at 8 or 9, I'm not planning on going any earlier than 6. If I don't get it this week, I can probably easily get it two weeks from now.

I was glancing at Best Buy's website and noticed they were available. Since I didn't want to spend anything on my credit card, I went to the store and bought a gift card in cash and then spent the gift card online to buy one of each, and thought I would spread the word for anyone searching for them. . .

If you strikeout at your first store tomorrow, head to a Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart/Etc in a black neighborhood. In general (Not all!) the black community has been more into the playstation 3, and you may have a better shot of getting one there.

I wouldn't have put ethnicity in this, but I cannot stress how much it helps to go out of your way to a store in a small town to pick up your wii. That's how I got mine, and there were still 8 left over. DO IT.

I just went to Target and the electronics guy told me they will have them tomorrow!

Sorry if you PMed me to check your store for Sunday's shipment. I was unable to retrive the info. As for the wiimotes and such, yes all best buys should have them Sunday, some have even been selling them already, and holding some others for Sunday.

Best Buy goes through spurts where these pop up online...they can't update fast enough to pull them when they run out however and you run a big risk of being backordered. I managed to catch one on the 5th, and it only shipped yesterday. Today they had more on their site, and I'm certain that it will be backordered as well. However I'm fine with that as it at least means I've got them coming.

I am just gonna stay up all night and head to target around 5

I hope my mom will compensate for all the times I missed my wii and how patiently I waited and help me to get to the store early. I'm really counting on her for this one.
