I just wanted to start a thread with multiple general impressions/reviews of the game. Just let each other know how we liked the games, which we own/rented. If you play a new game, just edit your post to update it.
If you can please post the games in a format thats easier to read so we can jump to a game for opinions easier that would be awesome...I'll start...
Call of Duty 3 - I just rented this and I must say its a very fun title. I am going to try and beat it by rental instead of buying it though. The lack of multiplayer makes it not worth owning after you beat it I would guess. I have never played any call of duty games, so this is my first time. I have played it for a good hour or so as of now. It is really fun aiming, and cranking the tv up. It made me get a sense of how it felt to be in a war because I felt like I was really running around point at people, and trying to hide from bombs. The graphics look fine to me, they are no xbox360/ps3, but its fun! If your a graphic whore, get the other console versions!
My Verdict - Worth renting, and beating. Not much replay w/out multiplayer.
Madden - seems fun, but still trying to get ahold of a 2nd nunchuk. I have 2 wiimotes, but nunchuks are still sold out everywhere. I am not big on 1 player NFL games, so once I get another nunchuk, this game seems like it wil lbe very fun to battle it out! A definately good buy if you can get 2 controls!
My Verdict - Worth buying.
Rayman Raving Rabbids - When I heard this game was a launch title I didnt even consider it. After seeing pics/reviews, I picked it up a few days after launch. It is definately an awesome game. I would possibly consider just renting it though and playing it a good few times and beating it. I dont see a replay value much. The games somewhat similiar with missions sometimes, but they do get harder...but makes for some good challenges. The bunnies RULE!
My Verdict - I purchased it, but if I had to do it over, i'd probably rent it and just beat it.
Red Steel - despite low reviews, I think this is my most enjoyful game I have played for the Wii. I can look past the little bugs/jerks it has. I just enjoy it. As of this post I am 73% complete and about 8-9 hours in. The game overall is fun and done very well. The graphics can be picked on by hardcore games, but I think they are done nicely/smooth. Hopeful they make part 2! Its good to rent or buy. Havent tried the multiplayer to know if its any fun.
My Verdict - I purchased it, but if I had to do it over, i'd probably rent it and just beat it.
Super Monkey Ball - I still hate the single player, and was wanting to sell it, me and my girl played some of the multiplayer games and they were pretty fun. I still wouldnt buy it again if I had a chance to go back...I'm just keeping it because they only offered $22 to trade it in on launch day...so I'm keeping it for the heck of it.
My Verdict - I purchased it, but I just dont get into the 1 player game. And multiplayer is just ok to me. If I had to do it over again, I dont even know if I'd rent it...but many like this game.
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam - I just rented this game and have to say its quick fun, but quick easy. I played it for a little and got thru a good 3+ screens of full games, and completing every mission. I didn't worry about getting all golds/silvers...as I just rented it and want to beat it. Its very fun after you get used to the steering aspect of the Wii remote. The moves are easy to pull off, but the levels are recycled a lot, and gets somewhat repetitive seeing the levels.
My Verdict - All in all a good rental, but I don't see it being a longterm title to entertain you. Once you learn how to do the spins/tricks easily and land good, its really easy to pull off some sweet stunts.
Wii Sports - to me its nothing more than a intro game for new players of wii....u show them how to play, then pop in another game once they know the basics. Its fun, but definately not indepth enough to last. Its not much fun playing baseball and not fielding. Bowling is the best game I would have to say.
My Verdict - It came with the system, and teaches you to play...can't beat that, and its fun!
Zelda - I only have played the intro and road my horse for like 2 minutes, waiting til i have more time and beat Red Steel. Its obviously a very in depth game. I dont get a thrill playing it like I do Red Steel...but I never liked Zelda games too much. I just got it because I know its very detail and has many Wii Remote functions.
My Verdict - I purchased it, I only have played it like 20 minutes so far...but surely it will be worth it when I have time!
