Suda 51 considers online play for No More Heroes

Suda 51 has told CVG that the inclusion of online play in Wii game No More Heroes is still up in the air, though he is very interested in it.

Koichi 'Suda 51' Suda is one of Japan's more interesting game developers and his upcoming Wii title No More Heroes, is shaping up well. CVG recently caught up with the developer in Japan for a quick interview that you'll see later this week.

When asked about the chances of online play appearing in No More Heroes, Suda replied, "This is still up in air. Personally, I am very interested in online play."

Should online play fail to make the final cut, there's every chance that Suda will go on to concentrate on an online game for his next project: "I want to undertake an online game once the No More Heroes project is completed," he said.

I'm already looking forward to this game but this just makes the wait all the more painful. If this does get online play then I can't wait!

yeah this game does look good hopefully its not all glitchy like most other free roaming games
The Japanese site has a counter for 8 days
The Site
Ive bin looking forward to this game for ages Big Grin...can't wait to see what happens when that timer runs out.
Hopefully it'll be some big news.
Less than a week! I wonder how long we'll have to wait for it and if I can wait or not. I might have to get the Japanese version first...
Since ESRB has given Manhunt 2 an AO rating is it even still possible that No More Heroes will be more violent than Manhunt 2 like Suda 51 first stated.
really, then in that case its likely to be banned in the UK as well.
NOO dont say that! Toungue

Well to be honest I dont think it will be banned in the Uk. Due to the game having cell shaded graphics instead of having a realistic look. Toungue
Plus the main reason manhunt 2 was banned from the Uk was because
the origanal had an effect and something to do with a murder
^ The worst ever explanation and proud.

I would bet money on it not being banned.
No that you mention the cel-shaded graphics it's possible this game is more violent and might get pass with just a M rating. The graphics make it look less realistic despite all the violence.

You're quite right to bring this up, but considering this game follows in the footsteps of Killer 7, I think it will be treated the same way its predecessor was ratings-wise.

And you're absolutley right in this regard. It seems that the less realistic the content is portrayed, the more it gets away with. Just look at a lot of fantasy and sci-fi films (star wars included) where heroes and villains get arms chopped off, or their entire bodies burned... if that happened in say, a cop flick or something grounded much more in realism - there would have been more problems with its rating.

From what I understand is Manhunt takes place in a "realistic" setting with more plausible plot points than No More Heroes where you play as a character who wields a flourescent lightsabre and battles bounty hunter school girls and caped super villains in addition to walking zombies - all in cel-shaded animation. The later has a suspension of disbelief from the outset, so as WiiRulez points out, it removes a lot of the realism, and makes anything that occurs less plausible, and thus less offensive.

That said, with all the problems TakeTwo is encountering with the AO rating and Nintendo's refusal to release any game with that tag, Capcom will no doubt ensure that No More Heroes receives a M, even if walks a fine line.

Yeah, I saw those the other day.. very cool pics. Girls pretty cute for a video game.

No More Heroes is rising my list towards must-have more and more...
Those screens are pretty impressive Smile
