With IGN reviewing the Wii game GT Pro Series, they left a subtitle that really got me wondering... "How far will ' All about the Gameplay' go"? The graphics for this game look absolutely atrocious(sp?) and I'm almost starting to get a little worried. Even SSB:B doesn't look that visually impressive. So yeah can anyone shine some hope on me to assure me that I will eventually be impressed with Wii graphics?
Compare the graphics from Madden 2002 (my first ps2 game) and FFXII (my most recent PS2 game).

Depending on how long the console is out, the system can make big changes in graphics

I'm thinking that the graphics will gradually get better and better
It'll get better and better as people push the Wii's power more and more. At the very most, I'd say we'd have something like Gears of War, at the very END of the Wii's cycle.
Yeah, so right now the Wii's graphics are pretty much like GC graphics, but they will improve with every game.

But I don't care about graphics, because its fun!
yeah, we'll hope things will get better...

look how Res. Evil 4 turned out at the end of GC's cycle...

i would also hope that the wii try to top those graphics as a "next gen" console soon
Look how great SSBB looks and it's only a first generation Wii title, so it's bound to get better than that.
another example - from super mario 64 to conker and jet force gemini
Yeah I know, its just that I would hope Nintendo would at least TRY to keep up with the visual competition that they have. Still.... I do have faith that they will impress like RE4 (AMAZING GAME) and Wii will continute to be the funnest system as will Nintendo be the top dog coming out of this generation. So yeah, I really look forward to camping out this weekend!
I'm sure that the graphics will get much better. It just depends who the developer is and how much they care about their game's graphics. I would think that the Wii's future games could have much better graphics than Resident Evil 4 did.
Depends on the developer....most of the stuff out now are ports over to the wii hence the not so smooth pixels. Another graphics junkie posting I see, but I will bite my tongue, they will get better there buddy, dont you worry. Rayman looked great and red steel looked sweet too, the game have to be redesigned for the new system, more time spent...better looks....Tiger woods golf got pushed back til march for a graphics overhaul, the best is yet to come.
i agree with some of the other people in this thread. i mean, look at super mario brothers compared to kirby for the nes. those are night and day as far as graphics go. it just takes time for developers to figure out exactly what a new system is capable of.

great point there. I mean it's not like things are so bad. I love the gameplay and LOZ:TP is no pushover in the visual department especially in 480p widescreen.

As developers and Nintendo begin to experiment with the Wii the graphics will improve it takes time.. You can't expect them to have everyone down all at once.. especially considering the machine has just come out. Just wait for some of the future titles and that will answer your question.
I think we'll get close to low-end XBox 360 games, no better imo.
I'm happy with the Wii thus far and graphical improvements aren't a worry to me but I think it would be great to see some improvements that can compare to some low-end Xbox 360 games like Lemon says. It won't affect my opinion towards the Wii either way though I just know the Wii is capable of more than seen so far.
And there you have it. All in favor say I...LOL no one got ripped on this post. So lets quit worrying about Nintendo as a system and look to the developers to push the envelope. Sad to say but the fate of the graphics all comes down to those guys. But as long as the gameplay remains sharp its one less thing to worry about.
