I'm from China, and my brother will go to US soon. I just want him to buy me a wii before Christmas. But ,who can tell me how much does it cost and where can him approach in US (especially in big cities)
$250. hard to find a Wii anywhere though. best thing is just to call Monday or Tuesday to see if any came in
i'm not sure if having your brother buy you anRegion 1 Wii is the best idea. I doubt if it will play on your television, though I'm sure it would look amazing on your mantle.
I just saw the retailer's list in the current news.while, toys r us and wal-mart are both on the list. So, is it hard to get a wii in these 2 shops?
Are you planning on playing the Wii in china? If so why bother with a NTSC system?
It's hard to get a Wii in any shop. Your best bet is to go to one of the stores that *supposedly* will be stocking Wii's until the morning of December 3rd. These *supposedly* include Target and Best Buy.
hard to get one anywhere. as green said though, it's not a good idea to get a Wii from the US if you'll play it in China. the units are region incoded, so options like online won't work when it's out of the area it was shipped to. if you're just playing games though on a US TV set, you probably won't have alot of trouble
1st of all I don't think China would allow the import of a U.S. Nintendo Wii...Maybe the Communist are a bit more lax these days, but I don't think so. 2nd if you have the cash for a Wii and importing a NTSC television, then you might as well move and grab and apartment in Germany, cause it's gonna cost you tons of Renminbi (chinese currency) to do all of that. Now if your father is a party leader, you should have no issue, but if he is not, I'd wait till Nintendo decides to send some Wii's your way.
NOT JOKING...I'd hate to see your brother be nice enough to get you one, and then be jailed for trying to bring it into your country.
region incoded, so is it like the region incode on DVD disc?
yes sir, so if you do get a U.S. Wii, and eventually your country gets one, you probably won't be able to buy and games in your country, because they will have a totally different region lock on them (unless there's a mod)
And in the system. Just don't buy one here. Imagine how sad you'll feel if your brother gets sent to prison for God knows how long because of you.
there are ways of playing imports on the system. the disc used to play Japanese games on the GameCube still works on the Wii, so maybe there is or will be a way to play Wii imports
OK, 1st of all ,thank you for your advice. but i have to say, if my brother take a wii back from us, he won't be put in prison, because my country is so open today.if you play nintendo's NDS, you will konw, we produce it in China and sell it through the country. Maybe, your ideas on China doesn't catch up with your knowledge on WII
do you actually believe China is a communist, or Communist country, green?
ok then smart guy, does China's government resemble communism or Communism more?
i have to say to knoe a country ,pls stay there for somewhile and feel the then you will get a totally different idea to what u got from your media adn government
my views of China/People's Republic of China have nothing to do with what media has told me. my old social studies teacher followed governments closely and taught us quite well. if anything, my views of said state are more liberal than actuality
People, why discuss politics? Its kind of off-topic. Maybe start a thread in Off-Topic about if your that desperate, cheers.
you're a lil late LMX. issues already resolved. good job trying to be bouncer though

I'll give you too late! Lol, anyway I wonder when the first price drop in the Wii will come..... *ponders*
