when you say it's connected, is it showing the wifi logo in the toolbar? also, if it is showing this, did you give permission for the wii to use the connector (you have to go to the internet settings on the wii and tell it to look for the wifi connector, then go to the wifi logo on the computer and tell it to accept).

i did all of those things it seems its connected but the wii says unable to connect to server is ther anything special i need to do

okay, that's just weird then.
as strange as it might sound, try the walk though on the nintendo site. there should be a url for the site in the connector box. i've tried using this site before, and i have not come across something that it could not walk me through.
sorry i couldn't really help much. the problem that i had was with the ip for the shared access being the same as my router ip (the connector will try and use 192.168.0.1, which, unfortunately, is also a common router ip address, resulting in an error when trying to install the drivers, because the ip address is already taken).
