UPDATED/EDITED DEC 17th
im some odd range of like 14 hours into the game i think? I am past a huge boss who was in chains in the fire level area...i thought i didnt like the game, but after giving it some time i found myself saying "wow, these people really took the time to make this game. The plots wild, and the setups awesome". Great game now...i couldn't of been more wrong by my title! haha.

Ok, I am into the game at least 5 or 6 hours now and have turned into a wolf, and back into link after filling up some vessels. Gamespot has since launched their online guide. After going through it, I am confused because I restored light with the vessels and became human again, but I dont recall getting a boomerang, or fighting the boss it mentions? Does the game let you skip parts or missions?

My first impression of the game was completely wrong, I think this games awesome now. It started like a slow intro of a movie, and the action picked up and I can't wait to see the rest of it now :-D

ORIGINAL POST BELOW:
Getting the system I knew going into it I wasnt a huge zelda fan. I dont like rpg's because they typically bore me. I try to play Zelda and just find myself quiting and not caring to play more.

I have thrown a hawk at a beehive, caught a goat...got a finishing pole it appears I need to catch a fish and catch the cat?

I just dont feel like im going to enjoy the game. I've had it since launch and played maybe 30 minutes total. Does the game get more exciting?

I just dont like how there isnt any guidance/mission goals listed and i have to run around and guess what I have to do next. I feel like im on a lost mission...

Does it get better? Any other non fans of Zelda enjoy this one? Or should I sell it? I've loved all the other games I got for the most part...just not engaged in this game like others seem to be?
Yeah, just play it a little longer.. beat a dungeon or two. If you don't like it after that then sell it. If someone doesn't like a game I don't see any reason why they'd keep it.
ok, i shut it off, but i am guessing the fishing pole u get you have to catch a fish then use it to catch the cat to give to the lady? I tried to catch a fish for a few minutes, a few times it said fish on but it didnt appear to do anything...maybe i just suck and dont have the patients for the game haha. I am hoping i will like it and really get into it like I did red steel.
If you liked Red Steel, you should at least MODERATELY like this game once you get into it. Would you like to see a video on how the game turns out later on?
Like OT u have to go thru the ordeal of learning about the origins of this new link and deal with somewhat dull start. I have no clue how u could not like it. My gf who doesnt play much video games at all is hooked and has stacked up 35 hours on zelda already and shes only on the 4th dungeon. She dies and dies and never gives up just bc she wants to know what happens next. Now seeing she isnt even a gamer id say this game is a success. And as for myself i too found the intro boring but after the 2nd dungeon the game picks up in pace very quickly. I just finished the 4th dungeon at about 20 hours and the story line gets more and more unexpected. Dont worry the game becomes more mission driven as you learn what you have to go find or save people thru out the game. And during this you learn whats going on. Dont give up so easily man....if my gf can do it...so can u.
AS the others have said, you really have to play through the game more. Once you get through a few temples the game really starts to shine!
ya, it gets better later on. im not too far in the game yet, but i really like it!
I gave it a little more time, its a little better. I got to some area shortly after the first big bridge...i got a sword and slingshot and stuff. I will give it a chance since i paid $50 for it hehe. If it gets more adventurious i will surely like it...
RPG's and Adventure games aren't really meant for people who just like instant gratification.

My little brother is like that, he has tried to play Zelda games and RPG's but he usually stops and plays a shooter or something else that doesn't require any effort or has no slow points in the story or something else incredibly shallow.
i am getting to like this more and more as i play, and im only 8 hours in (and this is my first zelda came) but BTW, saying those words on this site could be suicide, lol. but i hope it works out for ya, the more you play the better it gets, just need patience.
the more I play it, the better it becomes.
Wow, no offence. I find Zelda games easy. Also its not an RPG, its an Adventure game.

But seriously if it bores you that much then sell it, plenty of Nintendo fans would probably be willing to help you take the Wii's best game off your hands.

End communications.
30 minutes of gameplay? you havnt even started the game yet.
I have to admit that I have never been keen on games of the RPG/Adventure genre, which is why I will be one of the 25% of Wii owners not buying LoZ:TP! I was looking forward to Excite Truck, although us UK gamers will have to wait until the beginning of February until it is released ...
Ok, as i said I didnt like Zelda games, but now I am to a point I have turned into a wolf, and now just turned back into Link. I believe I am somewhere around 4 or 5 hours of play now? I had some problems w/ a few missions due to not paying attention, or having to dig a hole w/ the wolf to get somewhere.

I have started to like the game now...and can say I am please to see what else the game has in store now.

Glad I stuck w/ it...It has become fun...just had to get over the beginning. It was like a movie that the intro is dual :-P
I must say that the first hour of the game had me sort of dissappointed as well. But being someone who absolutely loves Zelda games, I stuck with it...the game just gets better and better and more and more fun as I play.

I am barely into it yet, and can't wait to see what will come next.
This game is a little frustrating in the beginning for me. I like to pick up and play for half hour to hour most days on each game and this one demands a little more time. But, after getting through the first dungeon in a 2 hr sitting I am looking forward to keep playing for elongated periods of time. Just gotta give the game some time to open up to you. If its still not appealing after a couple dungeons sell it.
yes
I grew up watching my older bro beat zeldas back on the nes. So it is in my blood so to speak. I cant force you to dig a game you dont like. But it is as ambitious as it gets. Fishing is one of the best parts. But thats not all, goat herding isnt one of the high points, but it IS part of the story line. Link is a character, a regular guy in VARIOUS time frames. A crisis occurs and lo and behold he is destined to save his kingdom. Its a classic story, told over and over in different times, and circumstances. Thats it. Enjoy.
