but when i tried updating my wii to get to wii channel it seems to have frozen up during the process. what could be wrong? Im updating it thru a router, should i just plug it in from my moden instead? please dont tell me this is one of the bad ones.
you know what, i had the same problem, after about 20 mins, i just unplugged the unit waited 10 seconds and plugged it back in, try the update again after that, it worked for me, hope it helps man.
im just gonna plug it in, i hope that works
if it doesnt work ill give you a ps2 a gamecube and a n64 all with at least 3 games and controller and plugins
itll still play games right?
yes, like i said it will still work, just be patient, same thing happened to me first time i tried to update. do a hard reset and then do the update again, should work.
oh, and dont do anything rash, like assume its broken and sell it, that would just be stupid, im not saying that you would, but there are impatient people out there who would just get mad and do something dumb like that.

i already have those systems
and i got an error code 53xxx
Nintendo, Has a site that has a place to type in your error code and it tells you what to do and what the problem is!. Too bad i aint finding it =D.

Why do you keep doing that, lol. Why would people want old systems that they most likely have at least one of for a new system? Maybe you'll actually get lucky some day though.
To me this seems like an issue where you download something on your PC and it just stops due to a heavy load connect on the server. Just retrying should do it again, this is common of all download based items.
Don't sweat it, they need to work the bugs out of their server systems.
If your using a wireless setup make sure your router is set to channels 1 or 11. None other really work well. Its a japanese things. My friend called them and they told him to do that. KK?
Setting the channel to 11 definitely helped me. The updates worked on channel 9, but they took forever, and the first time I tried to connect to the shop channel, it froze up. Switching to 11 fixed the problem completely.
i also get the error code 53... just retry a few times and it should work. always works for me, remember its a new system is gonna have problems, but also i guess the fact that your getting the error shows that your other problem is fixed. hope all this info helps.
Future updates should fix most of this as well. These really aren't hardware issues.

Same thing for me too.
