Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else seems to have to have the computer on in order for the Wii to not get a connection error. And/or if there's any ways around that.

Thanks.
Well that doesn't make much sense considering your router's power is in no way related to your computer's power.

That should only be if you're using ICS directly through a machine, which I'm 99.999% sure a person in question would not be.

Nope. I can get a connection without getting an error message. That may be the case with the USB connector, but not for me.
Well I've read others having the same problem on the Nintendo forums, haven't seen anything resolved. So thought I'd post here and see if anyone's having anything similar happen.

Yeah... not so sure what's up since my other computers and consoles work fine.

wait so what do you use first of all, a wireless router? or a wired connection
that happens if your useing the wifi adapter made for the DS, but shouldnt be if your using a router.
It's a wireless router. But seems to be all good now. Maybe my Wii was just playing tricks on me the first few times of connecting. Heh
There is a good chance that it could have been your service provider. I had the same issue last night but i could also hear msn messenger signing in again when the connection came back up. I could also have a crappy service provider Toungue
I had a ton of trouble with mine last night. I was trying to get software updates and every time It would tell me there was a connection error. I got frustrated so I broke the barrier of manhood and looked in the operations manual. I didn't find anything, so I looked online. Here is what I did to fix the problem and since I have had no problems...

If you live in an area with a lot of wireless traffic, it could interfere with the Wii's online operation. In order to fix this type in the IP address of your router. The default Linksys IP address is 192.168.1.1. I don't know what brand yours is. Anyway, Change the channel to something other than 6 which is the default channel for most wireless routers, so most people are running on this channel.

After doing this I haven't had anymore problems.

I hope this helps

Found a network analyzer that should tell you which channels are being used more often.
