"Sony has filed a patent for a Wii remote type device which will allow for on-screen pointing. The patent application even states "A receiver portion including one or more sensor units located in or near the target area." This sounds like a sensor bar!"

Source.

Doesn't suprise me... It just more or less pisses me off.
Lame Sony, very lame.
Wait....I thought with the SixAxis controller Sony wasn't trying to be like the Wii-mote, but it seems like that figured that controller dropped the ball, so they're going after Nintendo's idea. I'm sure the Big N will watch this close and be ready for court at a moments notice.
Like Miyamoto said, its flattering when companies steal their ideas.
Things Sony's Stolen to date:
Rumble
Analog Stick
L/R buttons
Wireless motion-sensitive controller
Wiimote style controller

No wonder Nintendo fans like us hate Sony so dang much.

Maybe we should just call them "Lowny"
It still is frustrating. Nintendo is the one who will put their company and their everything on the line for being innovative and once its popular and safe Sony jumps on it and tries to make more money, ****ers.
I still like the fact that when Nintendo comes out with a new system the BIGGEST secret is the conroller. Nintendo is always looking at better ways for people to play games....also, let's not forget the best wireless last gen controller of all times.....the honored WAVEBIRD.
they should be called 'noSy', because they bugde in on everyone else's innovations.

that wavebird controller is crazy! I have gone to the farthest corner of my house, and my brother in the other room yelled to me that the light still came on. anyone have any idea what interface it uses to talk to the gc reciever?

I believe it's via a radio signal (thus the different channels you can select)

wow thats sweet

- Nintendo has always been the innovator of many things, but people don't want to face the facts that Nintendo was Made to Make Video games, and will continue to do so, so they might as well get use to hearing and seeing their games..

Umm... actually most people do face it, they just don't like their image.
Ugh. I used to be a HUGE Sony fan a while back. Now they are just acting plain stupid. Instead of copying off of other people, they need to come up with their own ideas. To tell the truth, I think they are scared. They can see that Nintendo is completely dominating the market at this point, and they just want to be a part of that. They had their time in the limelight, now it's Nintendo's turn to rise again. RISE NINTENDO!!!!
poopies!
Nintendo won't let them use this patient. Companies often patient stuff they'll never use just so no one else has the idea. Trust me, the minute they try to use this patient, Nintendo will be there to stop them.
Microsoft has been known to steal ideas but at least for the consoles they mainly stick to their own..... Sony you suck and I'm glad your having trouble selling systems in the United States.... -SamusRulez

lol the story of microsoft!

(no really im no being sarcastic it is, i watch a documentary Toungue)

Ya seriously Microsoft just took Apple and made it better. Anyway, I think that Sony is more worried on making money than giving their gamers something fun. I have been a proud Nintendo fan sense I was little and I got a Nintendo 64.
Watta watta, huh?

*sigh* Sony sony sony...-_-.

Why do you copy Nintendo, Sony, WHY?!?!
