I'm not sure if anyone has posted this, because it's not exactly new information, but I thought this was awfully cool.

Namco Bandai has announced an updated version of its Mario Kart arcade racer, Mario Kart Arcade GP. Titled Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, the game promises new characters, including Waruigi and Tamagotchi, new items and new courses.

Four player races should be more fun than ever with some of the new features. The game now has voice commentary narrating the happenings of races. New frames have also been added to the Namcam system, which allows players to create an avatar by taking a picture using the game's built in camera.

Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 is due for Japanese arcade release shortly.

nice...too bad the US never sees something like that, our arcades are full of DDR, or some Marvel Vs capcom SNES stuff..(at least the ones ive been to...Cedar Point, Sixflags, Malls Etc..)
this is why we need a MarioKart online game. give everyone a headset, talk smack, and just have a good time.
haha ya
Absolutely! Nintendo needs to create a wireless headset (with usb hook up, obviously) and allow for some good old fashioned kart racing, complete with friend chat. That would be awesome!

XBL has, when you divide into teams, a voice function that allows teammates (only) to communicate together. Hopefully, if Nintendo goes with the voice chat, they'll include this feature.

dude! DDR PWNS!!! i love that game, just havent played in a while, but when i do, its a good exercise. i need to get my metal arcade pads fixed so i can start playing again...

Yeah, I agree w/ the DDR. I have a nice Cobalt Flux pad, but I was unable to take it here with me (shipping it to/from HK would have been insanely expensive), but once I get it out of storage I think I'll pick up Supernova (I already have Max 2, Extreme, Extreme 2).

If only my pad would work on a Gamecube I would have gotten the Mario Mix one...

Anyways...

Yeah, that arcade machine looks cool. I have played the first one, but only one time when I was at NOA's headquarters in Redmond, WA (next to where I went to college). I won some prize thing at school and got taken over there w/ a group.

PS-> The Nintendo Store there (which is only for NOA Employees/guests) is the coolest ever, with a whole little Museum of Nintendo's Past. I bet you can get a Wii there no problem...ahh, I want to be a NOA employee Toungue
