I was thinking nintendo needs to do a firmware update to put a big tree in the middle of Mii plaza. And you can decorate it by using the wiimote to drag ornaments onto it. And tinsel. And mabye drag your miis onto it and hang them like a ornament. And then have a big glowing sprite sorta like my sig on top of it. Like from mario sunshine. And have special santas that nintendo themselves put into the mii parade that they made cause their special and can do that. And if your luck you get one.

At least they should have a special tree appear, with WiiConnect24 it shouldn't be that much of a problem for them to do it. maybe not the whole decorating thing, but at least have a Christmas themed Mii Plaza.
Also, they should do this on several holidays in addition to Christmas I think. The MMO's do things, so should Nintendo

Yeah, sounds like a great idea. Would be even cooler if we could make special christmas cards or send virtual presents to our friends online and they would show up under the Christmas tree but would be set so they couldn't be opened until the 25th. However, you would be allowed to pick up the presents and shake them to try to guess what's inside. Really feel like a kid again then! lol

That would be AMAZING, but sadly, SO unlikely. I like it when developers focus on little details like that, though.

no thanks... for starters, they wouldnt do it, because it is politically incorrect to only do chirstmas, jewish people everywhere would throw a temper tantrum. plus the whole idea seems kind of tacky to me, sorry. but i wouldnt mind some free wii points or something if nintendo wanted to give those out
Actually it might be politically incorrect but it does happen in games. Example, I used to play an online game called MapleStory and they celebrated Christmas by having a Christmas Land where you could go and decorate Christmas Trees and take pictures. Monsters dropped Christmas things as well. However, I do see your point about other holidays. It would be impossible for all of them to be supported though so who knows if something may happen or not since we are supposed to be getting a "surprise" for the "holidays".
It wouldn't be too politically incorrect if they kept it with trees, presents, etc. That incarnation of christmas may have a religious base, but it's developed in to a damn secular event. My family is VERY un-religious, but we celebrate christmas. They could just call it Festivus. Or Decemberween.

This really wouldn't be a problem, just go to ANY MALL in the USA at least, and even here in Hong Kong the same thing. They play Christmas music and have a Christmas tree up, I don't see anyone really complaining over that? I think it would be accepted with maybe some people not liking it, but there won't be any riots against Nintendo.

Remember back to Sonic Adventure for the dreamcast. I used a dialup modem for that and at christmas time and such...and I think on my birthday that games plaza area would change into different themes depending on the holiday so it's not only possible but probably that nintendo will do the same.

I think it's a good idea, but rather than just giving people a tree, which kinda does only signify Christmas, give users an option to choose between certain items. A Manorah, Christmas tree, Nativity set, etc. Just something that each user can choose to put in that means something to them according to their own beliefs and religion(s).

Except, if you followed the etymology of Christmas, you'd find you're version means something along the lines of Wii MASS. So...still religious implications. Although I do like what that would mean....If you were to put me in a religion, I'd say go with gaming. XD
