MMO's are a horrid waste of life.

I spent way too much time playing WOW and Lineage 2 (nowhere near as much time as most of my friends, BTW) when I could have been busting out games that are actually fun on my consoles.

the only thing I find appealing about MMO's is the social element, and even then thats only because I like to abuse it and annoy people.

I once got a week suspension from World of Warcraft for creating a scam with the mail system and COD's. heheheh Toungue

In Lineage 2 I ran around for a good hour and a half ordering some poor guy to give me his shoes. In the end he gave up and gave them to me. hehehe. SPARKS WINNS.
If I ever become a mod in an MMO, the second I see you BAN! Just joking. I haven't played anything since Star Wars Galaxies came out and that soured me to the whole MMO experience.
I've never played a MMORPG cause well most of them have fees and thats just not cool...so i dont play them

I think Multi massive ONline or Multi Player Online Something like that

Thank you!!!

everquest 2 is really immersive and fun. The voices on npc's really add a dimension.
mmorpg stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game
Thanks again!Smile
I would love to see them put Hellgate: London, on the Wii. That would be an incredible MMORPG. I love the incorporation of the guns because you don't often see RPG's in any setting other than Medieval Fantasy. The fact that the game can be run in both first and third person also makes it perfect for this system because both styles would use the contoller very well.
I actually think a legend of zelda rpg game would be sweeter. I mean, teaming up ala Super Mario RPG with Zelda, Tingle, a Goron, Zora, maybe even Ganon. Idk, I really enjoyed the good ol' SMB:RPG!
i agree with uhhh... that dude

Just as long as the mechanics are not like they were in Adventures of Link hehehe.
I know PSO and PSU arn't MMORPGs since only 4 people are in a game at once, but I hope PSU goes on the Wii Big Grin
I'm sure we'll see a MMORPG on the Wii, I mean the whole "Connect24" thing would work well with one of those as well, but we'll soon see if its a MMORPG created from a current gaming series or whether its a brand new game.

Legend of Zelda currently seems to be getting the majority of the mention to become an MMORPG and that would be fun. Good to see a Pokemon suggestion because MY GOD after the disappointments of Colosseum and Gale of Darkness we need a Pokemon game which can utilize glorious adventures where you actually catch damn Pokemon, not the whole lame "Shadow" Pokemon thing.

Anyone considered a Metroid MMORPG though? Dunno just thought I'd throw that into the conversation lol.
OK...I don't know if anyone else has considered this yet or not...but why do an MMORPG based on any one game? Why not do one that takes Nintendo itself in to account? You'd have near limitless characters, bosses and worlds! You could have Link, Zelda, Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Samus, Kirby, Megaman and tons more! Even side characters like gorons, zoras, mushroom people, etc, etc. Enemies like space pirates, goombas...Bosses like Bowser...the worlds could span everything that's been done by Nintendo! It would span from places like Hyrule to space with Metroid...to other places from Mario games! Think about it! It'd be like SSB in an MMORPG. Now THAT would be fun and make for a lot of options!
No no no, when you make an MMO you are never ever allowed to be the "main" character they are allways an NPC (ex. Link, Zelda, Ganondorf), the whole point of an MMO is to roleplay, to think of yourself doing all these things your character is doing.

Although, a Zelda MMO could work.. choose one of the races (Zora, Goron, Human, etc), classes (fighter, mage, healer, etc), running around the Zelda universe (They could add on to it you know, its not like the setting will be OoT or anything..) I could see the potential, but they would have to really work hard on it.

But I reallly think a Pokemon MMO would work perfectly, Pokemon is a win-win situation, although I would prefer if they just kept the original 150... They could add things using the wii's abilities, petting your pokemon, playing with them, it could be more then just battling and leveling them. The highest potential MMO if I ever say one >.>

@alstensby: I really don't think that would work, because in MMOs balancing is important, and like I said we aren't able to play main haracters, so who would we be using the mario world? Mushroom people? I personally don't think of shooters as MMOs, so there goes Metroid... And I don't see how we could mix the different worlds together and make a story out of it.
Good point. I'm actually not an MMORPG player because A) I've never been a PC gamer really other than a few RTSs and B) I'd never see the day of light if I did start playing them. lol. But still...one that involves all of Nintendo could be really cool! It'll open the worlds up and character options.
I do admit it would be cool, but without a story, it wouldn't work. Out of all the Nintendo worlds, I think Zelda would be the only one that could work, it has few races, a giant world, and I could see them putting quests and everything into it. I just hope they don't charge monthly...

Quote:
Nintendo has announced that it has formed a development partnership with Korean studio Nexon for a forthcoming but as yet unspecified Wii title.

According to Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata in a recent statement made to the Korean press “We plan to actively support Korean game software developers who have great expertise in developing online games and support their advances into foreign markets...”

Iwata-san also went on to talk about the impending Korean Wii and DS Lite launches, but the big news, at least as far as we’re concerned, is the mention of online expertise and that bit about ‘advances into foreign markets’. And let's not overlook the fact that Nexon is the outfit responsible for the online racer Crazyracing Kartrider (no, us neither) and the 2D cutesy-pie but insanely popular MMORPG Maple Story – a game that’s been sapping the spare time and bank accounts of our Far Eastern gaming cousins since 2002.
Does this partnership mean that either (or both) of these titles will be converted for European Wii?

Alas, Iwata doesn’t go into specifics but with both games supporting huge online communities that are happy to spend real cash on in-game items we reckon hard economics will ensure it happens. Either way Iwata’s wording suggests that we’re in for some kind of Korean-flavoured online Wii japery in the not too distant future.
