Are you referring to the black bars at the top and bottom? I don't think those go away.
EDIT: Nevermind, I booted it up and have no lines. Are you sure your TV is set to Widescreen also? Do you have Zelda? At the start of a game, it asks you to adjust your screen settings and gives you little boxes to play with.

My component cable is in the mail, but with standard cables all of my Wii games are taking up all of my screen. I have a Samsung HD widescreen tv. Trauma Center which isn't actually a widescreen game, so it's just stretched a bit, but Zelda, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and Wii sports fill up the entire screen.

Uhm that's weird...Look it up in every manual and put Widescreen on every settings...: Game + Wii itself
