I am having trouble picking a FPS to buy. Should i buy Red Steel, Cal of Duty of far cry vengeance? Which is better?
I've heard mixed views on Red Steel and Call of Duty....and if Far Cry for the Wii has as much Load times as the Xbox version....I wouldn't walk across the street for it.

Xbox version you literally had to wait 3-5 min everytime you started the game cause there were no loads within the game....it looked good, but really frustrating and I just sat it down and forgot about it.
CoD is a really good army game. really gets the feel of shots fired from unseen foes, desperately trying to survive, following orders from the CO who obviously hates the war and knows he, and everyone else, will only escape the torment by death. that's why i didn't like it. my hatred for military force started flaring up as much as seeing war footage on the news

Red Steel does have some issues with the pointer flying off in a direction then coming back, which makes fire fights a little difficult at times, but the gameplay is great. sword fights are executed quite well and button presses seem pretty natural after a couple hours of gameplay.

i would get Red Steel simply because CoD isn't my type of game. i will still admit it's a very good game though
if I were you wait untill some reviews are out for Far Cry before you make a decision.

I'm in the same situation for you...but I've decided against Red Steel and CoD3......but if Far Cry turns out to be bad I 'may' end up getting CoD3 just to feed my FPS fix.

So yeah, reviews should be out soon for Far Cry.
i enjoy CoD3 very much, that game is intense. but i dont know if its your kind of thing. but i have heard from many people that they cant stand red steel, but ive never played, so i dont know personally. when does far cry come out? that game is usually pretty good.
Far Cry is supposed to be released this week, I believe on Thursday.
you could always rent it. if you don't like it...take it back, no harm no loss except the 5 dollars for the rent. think of it as chicken nuggets money....
I am unsure about a lot of games so what I did was sign up for GameFly, they have a special for the first month so I'm gonna rent as many wii games as I can in a month to try em out.
I was shocked the other day to see that blockbuster wanted $8 for a wii game rental.
8 freaking dollars for a game rental?!?!?!?! those bloody money suckers!!! what happened to the good old days where game rental is only under 5 bucks. gamefly is cool....i thought about it, but didn't think i'd be playing video games that much. but if it works like netflix, then you'd probably only be able to rent at most 3 or 4 games at a time depending on the plan. when i got netflix...i had first month free. you could always try gamefly for free and cancel.
The Pc version of far cry was pretty sick, though some load time, How the Wiimote is gonna work for it will make the game even better, I wouldnt get Red steel cuz I <3 my story lines and COD is jus cod (:
Yeah, IMO don't buy red steel. I am looking for a good FPS also, and couldn't stand red steel.
What makes CoD fun on the 360 is the multiplayer 16 on 16 but seeing how the Wii doesnt have that yet i dont think theres a good FPS out just yet.
I'm interested to see how far cry is. Seems like it could go either way...
I would say get Red Steel just because you can get and play COD3 and Farcry on your computer (assuming you have one). I don't have any of them myself but I will eventually got Red Steel because it appeals to me more than the others. If possible, try to play them all before you buy via a friend's house or I would say rent but not for $8! I think it's up to your preferences.
COD3 is an AMAZING game (at least for 360). My friend bought it and we played it just the other day...and even the first level...wow...it's incredible! But I guess you really need to appreciate that type of game...as you can see, a lot of people frown upon these games.
I recomend Red steel I have it and its pretty good as for the others I havent played the Wii versions of them yet so i cant really comment on them. Also about multiplayer on Cod it is a possibility for a multiplayer patch being sent via Wiiconnect24 when nintendo setup ther online network.
i have both CoD games on pc. I love the game. Even if you have a mediocre sound system....man...crank up the volume. The game not only plays well, but it sounds so good too. it brings tears to my eyes, literally feel like you are in the game. people shouting, bullets flying, tanks shooting at you. it really puts you in the game.
but of course...i'm not that much of an online person, don't care much playing with people I don't know. so it suits me. but if you think not having online play is just down right outrageous....then perhaps you should wait. everyone talks about game play, graphics, load time...maybe someone should mention about the audio (wink wink)
I will say that COD games for the comp are beautiful both visually and sound. Don't worry about the graphics that much if you haven't played it before on computer as you will have nothing to compare it to. ThyPig is spot on about the sound. Especially if you have surround sound (I don't but my friend does). Bullets really seem like they are flying past your heads and with my speakers cranked up, grenades seem to almost blow out my windows. However, if you listen to the sound only through your TV speakers it may not sound as great. Then again, I'm sure the Wimote will have sounds too like when you shoot which should make it kinda like surround sound.

is it really that immersive? (I've never played a CoD game...) sounds pretty awesome, but I'm bummed about the lack of multiplayer support... plus, since I'm living at my dad's for the next few months, I wouldn't want him to come up the stairs and start having Nam (yes, I KNOW it's a WWII game) flashbacks haha
