If you have a N64 and have a controller for it.I think the nunchuck came from the N64 control.Just put your left hand on the middle stick and put you index finger on the Z button and then put you thumb on the analog stick. If you try that it should feel like a nuncheck. Please tell me your results.
Also note the Gamecube controller looks suspiciously like the virtual boy controller.
Well, my viewpoint on this is that if they had something that worked in the past (well, the N64 controller at least...no comment on virtual boy..) why not re-use it. I know that the N64 controller felt good to use, particularly on SM64..yeah...I remember when i first felt that N64 controller....yeah...the good ol' days.....
whatever happened with that company who is sueing (spelling?) nintendo for steeling the wiimote design?
probably went bankrupt with the lawyer charges
It looks like pratically the same design of one of the GC's side thingies...don't know what to call them.
probably went bankrupt with the lawyer charges
*nods* yeah forgot about them ill do some research

Oh shoot its TRUE!!!!!! Wow nice job on noticing!
Yea, it does...(my friend has a N64 controler).
it took you this long to see that? Man that was the first thing I noticed when I saw the pics for the nunchuk and then held it in my hand...i thought N64. Im sure that someone else has mentioned this before.
Why change a good thing? I thought the same thing this weekend playing Zelda. Just look at *cough* Sony's Controller. That thing hasn't changed shape....ever. Unless you don't count the addition of analog control.
The biggest difference between the Nunchuck attachment and the middle piece of the N64 controller is the size. I would like it if Nintendo decided to release a larger version of the nunchuck, because I find the current one to be slightly too small.
Regardless of that, I think you may be right about the N64 controller being the inspiration behind the nunchuck's design. There is an uncanny resemblance between the two.
