I finally got my Wii yesterday and the dang thing bricked itself after the update with the 110213 error!

At least N is sending me out one before I send mine back, so I can still play over the holidays (but no save games).
With the release of the Weather Channel recently and people keep checking for some kind of Secret Christmas Gift the Nintendo server must be quite busy lately. It sucks that you bricked it but at least they'll send you one before Christmas.
THAT SUCKS! I am to scared to update, doesnt matter I dont have wifi. What does a Update do anyway?
The first update is supposed to be something to do with SD cards (and frying your internet LOL).

Not sure what the other ones do...
The first update gives you the availability to use the sd slot from what I can tell. Then there is the forecast channel update.
the first update did something with the parental controls also. come to think of it, BOTH updates i did gave a little message after saying that parental conrols were now available... interesting..
It's all good.

Already have an email saying the replacement shipped and it should be here on Friday if I read it right.

Now that's some fast service!
Thats ninty for you, good product and good service. Unlike some other *COUGH* Sony *COUGH* companies out there.
I updated, and mine worked just fine. I now have the forecast channel, too. I am one happy man/teenager.

thats kool, youll get it right in time for the opera browser. also i have asked this a few times but no1 responded. do u get to keep the broken one? i wouldnt think so but ive heard people say they do.

I can keep the broken one for $212, but they only send the console, no cables, remote, etc.

Totally not worth keeping.
Hmm ebay rape maybe...LOL j/k. Nintendo was a bit of a turd to me but after I got nasty on a phone call to them they saw things my way. But mine was a DS issue, I bought a game from TRU "NEW" but it was missing the manual and pin for registering. And I gave em an earful for not putting my VC games on my nintendo account. I linked my account AFTER I bought the games. They hooked it all up in less than 3 days time. Not too shabby.
I wonder what Nintendo does with all the defective Wiis and other systems (GC, DS, GBA) that get sent back.
hehe probably fixes them and repackages them for selling as new! lol
It's possible I guess. I mean, as long as they work perfectly fine then there's really nothing wrong with it. Which is why I can't understand when people choose to not to pay lwss for a used product since they feel it's gonna be defective or something.
Update 1: Enables SD compability and parentcontrol
Update 2: No burn-in-screen fucntion

Update 3: Weatherchannel + new drivers for Wii accarusy
would that be wii mote accuracy?

cos i noticed a difference in red steel last night. seemed easier to play.

They probably just reload the software, and resell them as "new". It's somewhat like formatting a hard drive, and then reselling a PC. You won't know the difference.

So if I get a Wii now will it automatically do all three updates as soon as I hook it up? Or if it is a recent shipment will it already come with it all?
it'll probably just get the updates... I don't think there's been enough lead time to get them onto the line (and shipped, etc.)
