My Wii is just hours now away from delivery.

Other than the obvious take it out of the package and hook up, what should I do first?

Which Sports game first?

Maybe dink around with weather first?

What should I do to lose my Wii virginity?

well, you see radio_guy, when a man and a woman love eachother, or have had a lot to drink, the man takes his Wii and... wait, what am I talking about again?

oh, right... I say get everything all set up, including internet crazyness blah blah update... then, pop in Wii sports and just go with the flow! Wii Sports is def. a great way to get acquainted with your new lover...

Ok, please continue...Big Grin

create a mii first
A Mii is a good way to start, its what I'll be doing.
make at least half a dozen miis...its pretty cool seeing family an friends playing on your baseball team...i mean cmon who doesnt enjoy yelling: 'swing the f@/`=: bat gramma'
Lol, well me for one.

But the idea is cool, haha.
If you have wireless than do the updates first. At least that way if it bricks then you don't have to worry about lost data and stuff. If the updates are succesful then make some Miis to get used to the controller and crack open Wii Sports and have fun!
UPS says it is out for delivery as of 9am....I can hardly frickin' wait.

I'm thinking about combing my neighborhood for a UPS truck Big Grin
lol, yeah I was excited when I first got mine too! Let's see if it will bring a tear to your eye when you finally hold it for the first time like it did mine.
Mana after what i've gone through to get this thing I am already crying knowing that MY Wii is actually even in my city.

My wife is already breathing a sigh of relief that it will be here, but she doesn't realize what will happen when it DOES get here Big Grin
Trust me on this, let her try it. Insists that she tries it. My wife also hates games and has hated every game I've ever owned/played except Wii. It's the first game she was interested in trying and now she likes to play it. Let the Wii bring you closer together Toungue
everyone is right... throw "create a Mii" into my list of things to do right before playing Wii Sports and after making sweet, sweet lo...err... right.
After you get a few games out of the way i would get your firmware updates out of the way and check out shop and weather channel and perhaps the new web browser...that is assuming you are hooking it up to the net.
first updates, thats good to get out of the way, then mii's so that when you do the third part which is playing sii sports, you have charectors to play with, IMO thats the best way to go...
Create a couple Miis first

Dude...took me a couple of days to get back and reply!!

Yah so my old lady was not thrilled about the purchase. It was the bundle price more than anything. So it comes and she just thinks im crazy for spending 750 on a "game."

Errrr, yah I can't get her to stop bowling.

I took the advice and just took a sec to get the whole thing set up...and then made myself, which actually helped me to get a feel for the wiimote.

And then I made a Mii of my old lady and then I made Michael Jackson.

I should post a picture its pretty funny.

Glad to hear that both of you can enjoy it. Yeah, I got a ton of Miis I made and some people sent to me. About 50+ in my Plaza and over 100 in my parade. Great to hear the Wii bringing another couple together. Go Nintendo! Big Grin
Well after an hour of updates, I would get the Miis going, and play some Wii sports and get the fam involved!Merry xmas!
Change your wireless router to Channel 1 or 11. This not only prevents the chance of bricking, but also makes downloads conciderably faster.

Also, the issue with bricking on updates was fixed, IIRC.
