There are plenty of games to match it... you just have to be willing to understand how they match it. I'm not saying Gears isn't a great game, because it is... but its not the be all end all of gaming at the moment.
AGREED!!!! Its like the same hype as Halo, its good but not the Worlds greatest game or sumthin like that.
Halo has way too many fanboys for its own good. As a shooter game alone it isn't great. But for console shooters I have to say its the best, but it doesn't have much worthy competition.
Yea, I actually didn't really like GoW for the first 30 minutes. It got exponentially better. Like I said, I'm open minded, and my opinions on various things change. For example, I loved halo, but didn't care for Halo 2 as much (with the exception of the AMAZING multiplayer). It's all in what you like. I'm personally looking forward to metroid, due to the controls it will have on the Wii, and how Nintendo handles them. I'm also eager to give it a shot, after playing and loving Metroid Prime: Hunters.
Metroid Prime Hunters was only good for multiplayer, the story mode was WAY too easy and WAY too short.
You shouldn't expect long story modes on portables. They're meant for short spurts of play.
True, but it could have been more challenging. But for a DS game it was very pretty.
I can't get into a Metroid game... Something about it just bothers me.
I enjoy Metroid games, not quite sure why. But the puzzle/adventure/power up elements are great.
Not to mention Metroid Prime has some of the most amazing Boss Fights ever conceived in gaming.
I have never yet played a metroid game but for some reason feel the urge to buy this one. I think ill give it a shot. Seems like a good game to me after reading the comments,

Yeah, if you haven't already played a Metroid game, pick up MP1.
And when it is released on the VC download Super Metroid.

/Agree with Lemon, super metroid owns. Although I never really liked the prime series much I will pick up MP3 for sure. I might pick up MP1 for the cube just to check it out again... I remeber playing it along time ago and not giving it much of a chance. I am a HUGE fan of the 2d side scroling metroid games so i was a little upset when they made metroid a 3d FPS type of game. :>_<:
Its not an FPS though, its an FPA. It still plays like Metroid except your in Samus' visor and it freakin' rocks.
I will probably get it on the VC without a doubt, and or steal/borrow MP1 from my friend.
I don't think GameCube games are coming to VC any time soon, if ever.
Metroid games RULE, plus the next metroid should be awsome!
I wouldn't expect it until Fall 2007 though.
