GameFAQS, the poll for Christmas Day's (12/25/06) results showed that most people who got a new console got a Wii. Here are the results:
Nintendo DS: 3.82%
Gaming PC: 2.195%
Sony PlayStation 3: 3.87%
Sony PlayStation Portable: 1.94%
Nintendo Wii: 15.08%
Microsoft X-Box 360: 5.87%
Other Games: 31.18%
Nothing Game-Related: 36.04%
As said before, the Wii won in gaming console sales only. The largest percentage was for non-gaming items. The total percentage of Nintendo console sales was 18.90%, Microsoft sales were 5.87%, and Sony sales were 5.81&.
huh, now if only we could get more games!

I got one for Christmas, or at least an "I owe you one Wii." Seriously, that was one of my gifts. A piece of paper with that scrawled on it. Imagine my surprise.
I got a Wii & TP for Christmas. ^_^
I'm pretty sure Playstation 2 accounts for 20% of that 31% of "other".

To me that seems logical that he Wii won in the "I got it for Xmas" area because the majority of people getting these kinds of gifts are kids and since Nintendo is family oriented, who wouldn't want one???

my sister and brother in law looked frantically for a Wii and a pink DS lite for their daughters with no luck....must be nice sitting on that pedestal gamefaqs
I asked my sister if she was getting one for her kids or if she had already gotten one and I said they'd love it. She replied with "What is it?" So the answer to my question was no she didn't buy one and no they weren't getting one for Christmas. This email was about 2 days for Christmas. At least they have the DS and Gamecube though.
I got my Wii on the 24th. Then I got TP, Trauma 2nd opinion, and extra controllers. After that I went out and bought my SSBM, memory card, and a conrtoller..... muahaha
*Charmander joins Kindrik, although he feels worse because his most up to date console is a SNES.
I swear I thought I was gonna get it this year... maybe at least a N64...
