Ok, so I have a router and dsl, so when I try to get my Wii to connect to the internet it says that it is unable. Then I try to configure the settings on my Wii and it finds the router but never connects. Can anyone help me? I am wanting to get more Mii's from my friends. I also know that my Wii is not to far away because my DS can pick it up just find, and that it is not any wireless items interferring with the singal. I will rep if you solve my problem!
i dunno what teh problem is, i have a similar one. I can get updates on my Wii but i cant use the shop or forcast channels
Also it seems that it "decides" when it wants to connect. Sometimes I get lucky and it will connect then when I try later I get the same stupid error. I emailed Nintendo 2 days ago and they haven't replied. If I don't get help soon I am going to call them and rant. muahaha!
Sakura, I have seen lots of posts on here recommending using channel 1 or 11 on your router. See what channel you are using and maybe try 1 or 11.
How do you check channels? Heh, I am sorry that I am so clueless.
you have to go into your router and check the setup.
When you installed it , it should have asked you what channel you wanted to use.
I don't know how to go into my router... I have tired but I don't know where to go into it at. I didn't install it my mom did so I have no clue...
sounds like you will have to wait for your mom to check it for you . Unless you have the manual there that shows you how.

Do you have a protected signal?
Ok, thanks! I don't think it is in the manual I just checked it out.... I will wait for my mom and then if it doesn't work I will call verizon and nintendo! Anyone else have any suggestions?
No I don't. It says unsercure.
try going to your address bar on a PC and type in 192.168.0.1
since your network is unsecure I am assuming that your parents haven't even dealt with your router homepage so the your login name would likely be: admin and your password: password. You should be able to access the router homepage after that.
Ok, I will try that. Thank you!
Anyone else have any ideas? I want as many so I can keep trying them.
it would help if you would tell us which router you have...
Then we could maybe tell you how to configure the router and change the settings.
Because for me the "changing to channel 1 or 11" thing worked fine!
You could also look up if your router has a mac adress filter, if thats true... turn it out!
Another possibility is to change the MTU to 1500 or 1492.... but i heard thats kinda useless.
btw: sorry if my english isn't perfect... i'm german...
You go into your address bar on Firefox or IE and type 192.168.1.1, then your router setup willmight* come up. Turn off the security and see if that works, then find the [wireless] channels and change the channel to 1-11.
Admin Edit - Removed unnecessary swearing and changed a couple of things
*other address might be
192.168.0.1
10.0.0.1
or if you're really unlucky whoever set it up, customised it :/
Whoa, jeez...i bit out of control there buddy. Not everyone knows there way around a computer like you.
Also what kind of router do you have....(if already mentioned and i missed it then disreguard.)
Why does everyone think calling your ISP will fix your issues with a console and wireless. I'm kinda on penile's side about this one...

Woah, excuse me for needing help. I am sorry that I am not good with routers smartass. Get a life is all I have to say. I would have tired it if I was at my mom but I was at my dads. I am trying to get help and I never asked you too. As you can see there are people on here that care.
Oh, and BTW for the people that care my router is a
Westell Model 327W and my ISP is Version DSL if it matters.
