I don't know if it just me or the game but while playing older mario brother's games i have noticed that, say u get to world 2 and u get a game over...u start from the first level of world 2 right? Well on the virtual console i have just gotten to world 2 and gotten a game over and it brought me back to the first level in world 1!!! Any suggestions?

in the original Mario there was no save when you lost you had start all over again
o well then that probably makes sence,i was thinking of mario forever for the PC. So do u have anyother suggestions?
The only suggestions I have are to gather extra lives and to avoid dying.
Uh, when I get to level 8-1, and feel like taking a break, (after playing 1-1,1-2,4,4-1,4-2), I just hit Wii menu from the home button feature, go to the channels screen, and turn off my Wii for a while.
You must return to the Wii menu to activate the suspend feature in all virtual console games except N64, which don't have suspend.
So if you turn the Wii off while a VC game is suspended it will still be there when you turn the Wii back on?
yes apparently accept for N64 but it's best for NES anyway since most games have no save feature.

No, you must first return to the Wii menu, then turn it off. If you turn it off and not do that, it will not have time to suspend.

That was a hidden Easter Egg in Super Mario Bros. To accomplish this you simply Hold A during the gameover screen and press start once you get back to the main menu. You'll start at the first level of whatever world you died on.
O wow really?? does this work for the VC version? If yes that is great news!
RJC you beat me to it. Yeah, that worked on the old game but not about on the VC though. Someone try it and let us know the results.
