The concept sounds great: Gigantic Trucks racing through levels at breakneck speeds. What could be better? Surprisingly, not a lot.
Gameplay
Excite Truck is a typical racing game with enhanced Wii controls. You hold the Wii Remote side ways and steer by tilting the Wii Remote left and right. The 2 button controls gas and the 1 button controls the brake. The game has a slight learning curve with the tilting but it quickly becomes Second Nature.
Excite Truck is fast! With turbo and loads of ways to gain speed, you'll be racing at speeds that parallel the Burnout series.
The point of the game is to do enough tricks to get a certain amount of stars. Using Turbo jumps, flying through rings and knocking your opponents off the track are all easy ways to get enough stars.
Graphics
Graphically, this game is beautiful. The Trucks are amazingly detailed and the environments look absolutely breathtaking. I do suggest that you play the game using the Component Cables for a sharper look with brighter colors.
Lasting Appeal
For a household with only one gamer, this game won't last you a month. However, with two player simultaneous racing, you'll have a blast with your friends and or family.
Negatives
-Tilting isn't as responsive as it should be
-Multiple Trucks but none seem any faster, stronger or more reliable than the others
-Racing in one player mode is a dud. You don't even have to get 1st to win the race
-All races could be won if you just drift constantly.
Final Score= 79% (Worth Renting but may not be worth buying)
