I turn my Wii off every night and put away the Wires, because wires are what my cats like to chew on, so will I still get updates a messages from people once I turn it on? Thanks. (I unplug it too.)

The messages should still be received after you plug it up but you won't get to see the nice blue light like that!

Run the cables through some cheap PVC pipe and the problem is solved!

ya the super admin's got the idea. goto any hardware store they'll have some.

Maybe you should muzzle your wii and position your cats behind some furniture.

What if you get a cheap piece of PVC pipe and stick your cat in it.  Did someone already mention this?

don't you have to tell the wii to use connection 1 everytime you unplug it?
