Mine runs a little warm as well. However, these machines are designed to withstand much greater heat, so it really isn't a problem. I leave mine on, and so far no problems. Just a question though, is your Wii horizontal? Mine is, and people say that makes it run a little warmer than vertical. But I just don't have another place to put my Wii.

And just make sure it's somewhere that's pretty well ventilated.
actually it is horizontal, in my room. I hope it isnt a problem. yea I noticed its less warmer vertical, but I dont have space to put it vertical
thnx for the info
Stand-by mode is with the orange light right?
yea, guess it is
That's what I thought... the wii will be fine. Smile
More so yellow I feel.. I left mine verticle.. on standby for a few days and it was kidna warm but my uncle leaves his on standy all the time and it's not warm at all. As long as it's in a nice open space it should be fine. If it's in a smaller space I still wouldn't worry too much. I just like ot be safe and tun it off every now and then. You could always leave it on standby in the day and turn it off at night if you're really worried.
how do you put it on standby? Just leave it on?
Or use the wiimote to turn it off?
My Wii is still yet to get hot while on standby.
Yes, the yellow light is standby. You may put it in standby, or hold the button on the console to make it red for "off", where Wiiconnect 24 becomes disabled, and more internal hardware is turned off. Mine is also horizontal because of the lack of space. As I previously mentioned, mine also gets pretty warm (especially on the bottom), but it's well ventilated, and doesn't give me any issues.
Mine feels warm sometimes, sometimes a little hot but I've had it on standby since I got it on release day and it has not really had any problems. Similiar to other equipment such as my broadband modem/router. It's always on forever and it gets very hot but there is no problem as it is made to withstand it.
As long as at least one vent is open, your fine.
