Ok, so I see that Wiis can take SD cards to save stuff on. I also see that Gamecube memory cards have a slot there somewhere. So is Nintendo not even going to make me feel somewhat less depressed about my foolishness in buying a Gamecube and let me use my GC memory cards to save Wii games or are they gonna screw me over again?
Nope Wii saves can't go onto GC memory cards. I think Wii saves save onto flash. I don't know what GC cards are, but I don't think they're flash.

I'm not sure if I'm reading you right, but no, you cannot save any Wii data on the Gamecube memory cards. Only GCN data. I think it's like this because the certain GCN hardware is tied in to GCN operations only.
The above post is correct. You can't save Wii saved game data on GC memory cards. You can save them on the internal Wii memory, SD Cards and some games you can save data onto the Wii Remote for when you play at your friend's house (PangYa for example).
