Anyone know if Nintendo is planning on releasing rechargable battery packs for the Wiimotes? I seem to burn through the regular ones pretty quick. Some sort of setup like the 360's charging stand would be slick. Or should I just say the hell with it and go buy some regular rechargeables?
I just bought the rechargable battery kit from Energizer. This would probably be the cheaper solution that any Wii designed battery kits for the wiimotes anyway.
I use energizers too. I have eight total batteries, so there are four energizers in my two remotes at all times...I have two other wiimotes, but those dont get used nearly as much as the main two wiimotes. It's great. and the energizers charge very fast. My wife and I have burned through several charges in the first month and a half...so much fun playing Wii!!
I went with the Duracell rechargeables over the Energizer just because they were cheaper and they had a higher MaH number so I thought that had to mean something good. I've got to say rechargeables will save you a lot of money either way.
I heard of a third party making a rechargable battery pack.
I gotta say that at least with replaceable batteries you can get right back to playing once they run out, as opposed to waiting for a controller to charge.
Kindrik's right. I use rechargeable batteries for that very reason. Keep some charged so you don't have to wait for the Wiimote to charge on the dock.
yea, having rechargeable batteries on hand is probably the best idea, even with the charge station that Nintendo is making for the Wii, supposedly coming out here in January. It pretty much docks the Wii system and 2 remotes, and comes with 2 rechargeable battery packs that sit in the wiimotes and charge up when you sit the remotes on the stand. Pretty simple, really, but it's still nice to keep the extras laying around.

I've got 4 rechargables awaiting my Wii. Once I pick up another controller I'm going to buy more so that I'll always have some ready to go on the side.
I was gonna buy enerigizer batteries and such, but they have far less power then some of the cheaper ones at Walmart. Check the AmH...at least i think that's the thing...the higher the number the better...my 4 AA rechargable batteries are 2500 AmH
i am still wii-less but fortunatly i have been on the rechargable battery kick for some time...I would recommend the energizers quick charge...15minutes and your fully charged
