Well, it kinda felt like more of a spin-off at the time but then when KH2 came out it turned out to be very relevant. So relevant that its being remade for PS2.
And as for Sigurd, he is from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Released in 1996 for the SNES in Japan. I have played it, by certain means. There is a fan translated copy of the game out there on the internet.
