I was reading GamePro and it had a section fo 14 things you should know about the PS3. One that I heard of was that you can download your saved files from your PS3 to a friend's PS3 for free. Except you have a limit of 5 transfers per file which really hurts what would otherwise have been really cool.

So why didn't Nintendo think of doing this with their hyped up always on WiiConnect24 console?
Would it be possible to add in the future?
Oooh cool!

i bet it would be, nintendo did mention releasing a version of the wii later on that could play dvds so they might put this feature in somwhere down the line if they think of it......

The DVD will probably be Japan only though. It would be profitable there, with licensing costs in the USA, it wouldn't be worth it due to how cheap DVD players would be. Most experts say it wouldn't work for Nintendo. I can believe that. Remember, sony and MS are already licensed from other technologies.

Nope. The DVD is coming to North America in the latter half of 2007.

Nope. You misread your source. It's still Japan only.

According to the release, Nintendo plans to launch this version of Wii some time in the latter half of 2007. What wasn't clear, however, was if this announcement had been confirmed by Nintendo, and if the DVD-enabled Wii would be released outside of Japan.

You can kinda do that now by saving on SD cards and then uploading them to your computer and then you can send them to your friends as often as you would like to. Just can't do it from the Wii...............yet.
Wish you could do that on the xblive market place.
Why not just go to http://www.wiisave.com, upload your game save and have your friend download it from his wii?

It'll be free AND unlimited use.
Can you save files to the Wii's HDD from the browser? I don't think you can.
I'm not sure, but think Nintendo would be able to have a firmware update to do this.
