When the Wii was released in Australia on December the 7th, I had left for Japan two days before on a 6 week exchange, and thus had to get my brother to pick up my pre-ordered wii, along with Twilight Princess of course! It is now sitting on the bed at home waiting for the next to weeks to go fast so i can play it back home. But some things are bugging me from things i am reading all over the web, and the sony fanboy noobs who are travelling with me. 〔Trust me,no matter how nintendo fanboy you are you cant ignore everythi ng). These questions are as follow and your help would be really appreciated.

1. Does the amount of flash memory on the Wii do it justice - is their enough for everything we need? Will saving games, etc automatically sync with SD cards? (This is one point that i can`t beat sony fanboys on...)

2. What happens when you run out of channel slots in the menu?

3. Are the graphics truly worthy of Wii`s labelling as 7th Generation?

4. Is the quality of the wiimote‘s s eaker really that crap?

Thanks again,
R.McD
1. The flash memory of the Wii is more than enough to take care of any game saves you have and then some.

2. Channels can be expanded in future updates and don't forget that you can transfer channels to SD cards.

3. The graphics will improve as time goes on, compare XBox360 games when it first arrived to games they have now like Gears of War. There is a big difference in how they look. Wii won't ever be on par with XBox360 or PS3 games but none of the systems can even come close to control of Wii.

4. The Wiimote speaker doesn't bother me in the least. Some people like it, others don't. If you don't like it you can mute the sound.

I think your friends may be jealous that you got the Wii. They're be knocking on your door to play it soon. Toungue

that pretty much hit's the nail on the head.

Thanks, that was really helpful ManaBurnX. A rep for you.

Anyone else with some opinions?
1. Yes, the internal memory is plenty. On my Wii I have all 3 Zelda slots in use and a Wii Sports save file and it take up like 3 blocks and 2,160 blocks of memory are still available.

2. Not too sure on this topic, so yeah... *points to ManaBurnX's response* lol.

3. Listen, if you want graphics then the Wii isn't for you. Quite simply the Wii is only about gameplay (You know, Nintendo's new philosophy) the first line of Wii games look alot like GCN games. But since its three times as powerful as that then hopefully things start improving soon. I mean, many say TP is the best looking Wii game yet and thats a GCN port for God's sake lol. Wii will get better, I predict by the end of its lifespan we'll reach low level XB360 graphics.

4. I like the Wiimote speaker. But only when its turned down to about half volume. It really adds to the experience for me. Especially if I'm swinging my sword in Zelda and can hear the effects coming from the Wiimote's speaker instead of the TV. But of course, if you don't like it you can mute it.

And awesome, your from Australia, you rock.
Yeah, Australia does indeed rock!
Glad I could help. Thx for the rep. You'll love it for sure mate.
On the graphics note, having owned a 360 for the last however long since it's been release.......I don't even notice the diff once I'm into the game, cuz I just have too much fun playing. I do notice some graphics aren't as smooth or polished, but I just glaze right over it...

I do have the Wii on my HDTV hooked up using it's highest capabliity at 16:9 at 480p with top notch component cables. I can notice a big diff from the 480i standard to what I am running now.

If you go look'n for graphics and that's your only thing. You might not be so impressed. I've owned every video game system starting with Atari all the way through the Wii.....(exculding the Ps3 that's the only one I haven't owned) and I love the thing to death, it's just a great time and the perfect blend.........IMHO of course Wink
Trust me i wouldnt even think of going to other systems, iwas just curious of your opinions. I really am a nintendo fanboy. On my resent visit to Kyoto (as im now in Osaka), i visited Nintendo`s HQ just for a picture and was thinking of uploading it back home. Now i think thats pretty fanboy...
^LOL I just re-read what I posted.......I didn't mean to imply that you didn't think the Wii was up to snuff.....Big Grin

I just ment to get the point across that its too much fun to notice the diff between Wii and the 360 in the graphics dept.

Where's the pic, I wanna see Wink.......I had a buddy over in Japan for the last 2 years teaching english, I wish I could've got over there to vist!

I'm wondering what you think of the 'box' building that Nintendo is in? I hope someday to work there...

ahh, let me just put it simply in Japanese 4 you, but using romanzi as I am on a PC w/ out Japanese text input now.

Nintendo Wii ga tottemo omosiroi desu kedo....tyotto kiree desu nee. Watasi wa wii ga iti-ban to omoimasu.

Smile I hope you are enjoying Japan, I just applied for a job there, if I get it I will move there in June. If you have time go visit Hong Kong if you haven't before....not a cheap flight....but it is also a great place (I just moved back to the States from there).

Your jap is quite impressive cdrober and whats more impressive is that i understood it! (at least for me). Cant upload the pic till i get back to Australia, sigh.

On a different note - im glad you dont notice the graphics difference, i cant wait till i get mine open. Ive already bought heaps of wiimote accessories over here. And planning on game im gonna play first, whether i let my brother actually touch it or not, and which tv i will connect it to.
