This isn't your regular run of the mill rumor. This comes straight from the horse's mouth, which is in this case the official Sadness page on the Nibris website. Ever since it's E3 showing Nibris has been very tight liped about it's upcoming Wii project. The creepy trailler that was shown sparked interest in many Wii fans, including your's truly.
But it seems like the game could recieve an Adults Only rating from the ESRB. Once you visit the Sadness page you are presented with a message saying
"Are you at least 21 years old and don't suffer from a heart condition?". Webpages for games usually try to keep underaged viewers out so that means that Nibris is expecting an AO rating for Sadness.
I really hope that this doesn't lead to an AO rating or that Nibis at least brings it down to M.

Sadness for Adults Only? - QJ.net
It will not be, I have never seen a game AO. And I dont think a WII game will be AO. Mabye PS3. or 360.
This Sadness news saddens me however. Gonna be tough to pick it up if it's AO.
Just get your parents, older brother, older cousin its not hard.
I went inside of EB games, Went to the guy told him give me GTA: San Andreas he did no questions asked.
I've never even heard of sadness
Unless there is like hardcore porn in this game there is no way it will be AO. I don't think a console game has ever been rated that high and there have been plenty of extremely suggestive games in the past.
Adults only doesn't bother me, however, 21 and up? Last time I checked you were considered an adult at 18...
The game looks scary....not gonna buy it xDD
Sweet, this'll own the people who Nintendo games are "kiddie"

True, the only AO game I have seen lately was GTA: SA, and that's just because the nerds who had unlocked the "Hot Coffee Mod", which was a hack anyway, before it was rated M. What does everyone think that Necro-Nesia will get, it's CERO 15+ in Japan, so I hope it's only ESRB T here. My parents don't really like me getting M games, because my brother always wants to play them.
I agree with Lemon. This game will hopefully help shed Nintendo is being called for children only.
I can't believe I havent heard of this game. Don't really care about the rating since I'm over 21 and I'm kinda glad a horror game is going to be rated mature. Hopefully it delivers on spine tingling moments with a control setup that isn't stupid. Hmm one element they can use is maybe finding old tapes or using the phone and having to lesson to your Wii remote to track down some clues (they can be crackly/static driven sounds on the speaker and fit the mood just right).
A game has scared me since RE1 on the PS1. Let's hope this one lives up to what the developers are promising.
this game game gives me the creeps ever the trailor freeked me out, but i lied and said i was 21 and went to the page and that freeked me out more with all the screeming and yelling and what they wrote.....im NEVER getting this game.....
<3 Sadness already.
But I doubt it'll ever beat Silent Hill for just plain disturbing stories.
AO rating would probably spell doom for sales unless it gets rave reviews/word of mouth. I've never heard of it, I'll have to check out the trailer. I've never been too fond of most thriller games, as they generally are slow/have bad gameplay. The closest thing to a thriller I enjoyed would be RE4 or Eternal Darkness. I'm still hoping this kicks butt.
On a side note: What's the point of having a M and AO rating? M is supposed to be 17 and older, yet AO is 18 and older. What difference does that 1 year make? Maybe that is their half-brained attempt at the R/NC-17 distinction, which doesn't work for retail. The only difference between AO games and M games that I have seen is one blurs out "realistic" nuditity while the other does not (or has the option to not blur it out).
So why isn't the video working for me? I keep getting a 404. Ugh. I'm really excited for this game. I've only I tend to get really bored and annoyed by the games that think gore and shooting is what'll make a scary game. Um...wrong. Games have become so formulaic that it's sickening. It's nice to see games that come out now and then that'll actually change the way a game is played or how the story is told (Wii games, Ico, etc). They're so few and far between but I am pretty excited about what this one has to offer! Does anyone know of a release date?
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS GAME!!!!!!!! I NEVER SAW IT ON E3!!!

The trailer game a couple of weeks after and I believe it's slated for a release late this year. I'm really excited about this game though, to see how scary it actually is. I would just have someone else pick it up for anyway if it was AO.
I can't believe all you kids who would defy the law and try to get a copy of a game that's rated for Adults Only. Shame on you. What would your parents think? I never did that when I was young. lol
