January 4, 2007 - Rumors have been running rampant yet again about the possibility of a NiGHTS Into Dreams sequel on the Wii. This time around, the rumors come direct from the website of Japanese development studio, G.rev, who recently posted a release list of upcoming Wii games. Buried somewhere towards the bottom of the list was NiGHTS, although no other details were provided.

Overeager fanboys must note that this is not even close to an official confirmation of the existence of the game. Most of the titles on the list are games that are barely more than rumors now anyway, including a whole slew of games that don't even have titles yet. We contacted SEGA regarding the rumor, but they declined to comment, except to state that no plans for such an announcement are in the pipeline.

I never even heard of this game until it was brought up like a year ago suggesting there could eventually be a sequel. How many of you actually played the original?

I had this one for the sega saturn. I bought it in a combo pack which had the special controller for it also. it was a 2 1/2 D game. It was really cool. I did find a trailer for Nights 2 for the Xbox 360...

i remember the original. it was HUGE back in the day. they had a huge demo station set up in the middle of Six Flags promoting it. crazy

but i'm confuzzled. supposedly the game is a rumor, but you posted the trailer for it. so is it a rumor or confirmed? or is just the Wii release of it a rumor?

I think the trailor...although really good was a Spoof. I'm not sure how well Nights can come into the next gen arena though. Back in the day it was cool to see 2 1/2 D worlds and movement, but today we expect a lot more.

The trailer is fake. Look at the first comment underneath it. If this game came out, I would most definately buy it.

it would be moved to the top of the list of games i want to get.

it really showed a lot of what the game console could do in that era.

I remember playing it in TRU and I thought it was amazing way back then and still think the controls are awesome now. Would be an awesome game on the Wii, let's hope this happens someway, somehow.
