I didn't believe it at first, but its true. Sony's Sixaxis controller, an almost certain copy of the Wii Remote, has won an emmy and the Wiimote has not.

Haha, and they are scheduled to receive the best of innovations award. Crazy.
actually the award isn't for the six-axis controller at all, it's for the dual shock analog controller.
"A follow up message from Christine Chin from NATAS tells us Sony has it all wrong. The award was for the original dual shock controller. Here is her message in full:
I understand you had contacted Cheryl Daly, Director of Communications at NATAS to confirm if Sony won for their PS3 controller. This is incorrect, Sony won for their dual shock analog controller. The award is from the Video Game Technology Group. It was nominated by our internal group and considered along with the Nintendo D-Pad both of which were considered Emmy worthy for the development of the generation of controllers that followed the classic joysticks.
I would like to confirm that Sony did not win for their PS3 controller, they won for their Dual Shock Analog controller."

What a relief! *sigh*
that bullshit nintendo deserves the award
I don't care WHAT they win it for--it's all stolen technology from Nintendo.
dual shock my ass.
can you say N64 controller? that's right, isn't it? oh, yeah, it had an analogue stick first.
oh, and rumble...hmm...I vaguely recall a very popular title that came with an attachment for the controller... what was it called? OH YEAH. IT WAS STARFOX64 WITH A RUMBLE PAK.
what a load of s**t.
too bad Sony owns so much of the goddamn media.
Did you hear? Sony LIED about it.
Sony fanboys, cry.
Nintendo fanboys, rub it in their nose.
Microsoft fanboys, HA HA YOU'RE NOT INVOLVED AT ALL.
Unbiased people, look in disgust.
*looks in disgust*
Oh, and if you can't tell, I'm bitter.
They actually claimed that this had happened.
This is total crap. (Yes, I read the clear-up).
Dual shock = stolen from Nintendo's Rumble Pak.
Analog stick = stolen from N64's controller
Shoulder buttons = Nintendo's L & R buttons
Motion sensors = Wii Remote's functionality.
Sony's new motto:
Sony: Always new ideas. Psh; yeah right!
there was a better one that said: what nintendo create, we take."

aye sir! preparing to rub vigorously!
people need to start realizing nintendo did all of this first, rumble, analog....its all been said... it wasnt sony. they dont deserve an award for this, they can have a reward for....somthing, if they win anything, but not that.
give them an award for most blatant theft without any sort of justice?
well, until the Wii was birthed. Now they're getting what was coming

Argh the tide of fanboys are coming!!1!!1
Sony did state they got it for SIXAXIS... hilarious considering they got it for Dual Shock.
For the record, I love Dual Shock, its great. And to think it was in the same league as Nintendo's D-Pad is quite the accomplishment.
I'm scared to go near Gamespot System Wars now.
