Hello. I am a table tennis fan. I am really looking forward to purchasing Wii Play bundle when it is released in North America. I did many searches around the web and it seems the Wii play table tennis is nowhere near as good as Wii sport's tennis. I have several questions I can't figure out from my search:
1) Can I say, put some spins and smash the ball in Wii Play's table tennis?
2)Does it support playing a game instead of just 'rally 100 times'?
3)Is it a two player game?
Thanks!
ps. I am also a basketball fan, anyone found any info about a Wii based basketball game? I can't even find one that is under development.
I don't know about questions 2 & 3, but to answer number one--
No, you can't. You don't control the hit. All you do is move the paddle. It's basically the opposite of Wii tennis, in which you don't move the character, but you swing the racket. In Wii Play table tennis, you move the paddle, but you don't swing it--the computer does that.
I don't actually have it (living in the US myself) but this is what I've read.
wow... the blue guy is teh wiitarded suxxorz
maybe you can add spin by moving the paddle quickly into and out of the correct plane to hit it? does that make sense?

I would guess so too. But that means only side spin is possible. That's another thing that is opposite to Wii Sports Tennis. In tennis we can only do foward or backward spin.
goddamn Nintendo! just combine them!

Not true, you can do side spins quite easily, and put lots of side spin too if I may add...
Hmm, I haven't ever tried putting side spin in Wii Sports. I'll have to give it a try though.

Really? Is there a special move required? I attempted to do side spin but the ball never spins from side to side for me.
BTW, I found it difficult to put backspin. Maybe there is an easy move to trigger backspins I dont know about.
