Looking at my catalogue, there is 4 pages of the square breed of LED, besides you don't need a perfect fit, you could get a tiny round LED and hot glue gun it in, or a regular LED and dremel it in
well, there's a radioshack, and that's about as electronic as it gets in my area.
these square leds are not as big as you think. they're probably less than 1mm thick and about 2mm wide, and they are flat with the pcb. very small things.

replace 4 blue leds in remote with 4 dual color ones.
solder together both leads for both colors in each led
each light would then show as two colors at the same time!

Hmm, I think if you hook up both LEDs they'll probably just combine and you'll get essentially an amber LED. I could be wrong though.
no, if you look close at it, it is a dual led with two light emitters. so, you should be able to see both colors side by side.
I know, but especially with it being so small I think it might blend together. No way to find out for sure but to try though.

Sweeeet controller mod. I would rather have a all colored controller than a lit one though.
i'm not sure, but some buttons let light shine through if a led is under them.
i have seen stuff like a red led under the power button, so that should give you ideas to do similar things with the other buttons.
anyway, we don't know when different colors will be sold, so this will have to do for now, right?
