Yup, that's kinda sorta the sound my Wii is making now while uploading games and even during gameplay. Needless to say, I'm a bit concerned. For the record, it should also be known that load times have increased a lot. I only have 3 VC games at the moment, so I don't understand what the problem could/might be. I am considering an attempt at getting Nintendo to replace it, so I don't use up my EB Games warranty ahead of schedule (translation: ahead of November).

Any thoughts?
My Wii made some wierd noises while playing DBZ BT 2, but it hasn't happened anymore.
My Wii used to get a bit noisy when playing Super Swing Golf but haven't noticed it lately because it either stopped or I just got used to it. Didn't have the sound like you're describing though. Give them (Nintendo) a call.
The Wii is the loudest system of this gen (and probably an mainstream system, although the Xbox is pretty loud), no surprise there.

...No.

The Xbox360 sounds like it's roaring, and my friends PS3 makes a lot of noise to.

My Wii makes close to no sound.

Edit: 200th Post Yay! Toungue

oh, hell yes.
if anyone has used a dreamcast, then forget the wii noise altogether.
when starting up games, and going from the the game to the Wii menu i hear a loud clicking. i figured it was the disk drive securing the disk or something in that manner.
i do Believe it does secure the disk.or it just could be the laser eye thing moving around
