Normally I'd take this kind of rumor with a grain of salt but the box art you see above makes it all the more believable. A Dutch game and toy retailer, Bart Smit (which is aparantly a very reputable company) has a listing for preorders of Rainbow Six Vegas on Wii. A few months ago the game was also listed as being in development for Wii on a Ubisoft website.
As I mentioned the box art makes the rumor more credible. Usually when a company places an item up for preorder you will see something like "No box art/image available" but Bart Smit seems to have found a Wii box art for the game. Before hearing of this I hadn't seen or even heard of someone making a mock R6 Vegas Wii box art so it makes you think where they got it.
But until Ubisoft makes an official statement don't hold your breath.
I actually hope not.
The control scheme for RB6V isn't easy like any normal FPS.
So they better do a damn good job.
Well they did make Splinter Cell work. Where there's a will, there's a way I say.

Visually the Wii version wont look as spectacular... and maybe no online play. Which is RB6V strong points.
Well I wouldn't expect R6 Vegas (if it's coming) to be done by March/April. By then there are supposed to be online Wii games so it could very easily have online multiplayer.
Its true, if it comes around March/April there is the possibility of online. Anyway the more games for the Wii the better.

currently I have no 360 but loved this game when I played it by a friend of mine...
it's not hard to fake a box art though. just some photoshop editing. i find the preorders more astonishing than the boxart.
i wouldn't be surprised though. Ubisoft has been a huge supporter of the Wii. they may simply be buying time to wait for an announcement that RB6V will be one of, or only, flagship game for the Wii's online gaming. Nintendo hasn't said a whole lot about what games will be online. maybe this will be the start
Its the best time to buy a Wii, for the online gaming. I would disappointed x30 if the online gaming isnt up to par or even better the XBL.

You expectations are WAY to high. The Wii's online system won't be anywhere near what Live has become. XBL is a paid service, Nintendo's online service is free. That's already telling you something. Not to mention that many people from Nintendo have already said that the use of an online rankings system will be unlikely.
I definitely belive this is true because I've heard about it in two different video game magazines and some other online sites as well. Also like Nomadd said, they're taking preorders for it as well. However, even being true I will be skipping this one. I didn't really like the PC versions of the older games and I would prefer a mouse to the Wiimote on this game to be more accurate. Just my opinion.
While the single player is fun, its the mp modes like coop terrorist hunt and sharpshooter that make this game really shine. If its coming to wii I hope they incorporate some kind of online or offline multiplayer.
