but are the RIGHTS to those games owned by MS? if Rare still owns the rights to their own games, they can do whatever they want with the games. it all depends on what exactly Nintendo sold to Microsoft. if they just sold the studio, then Rare/Nintendo can still do what they want with those games. if they sold all including rights to Rare made games, then there's nothing short of complete obliteration of Microsoft that will get those games on the VC
I'm just talking about Activison or Acclaim, if they own the rights to James Bond, which the game is 100%, then it doesn't matter who made it, James Bond is theirs. Meaning they should choose if the game appears on the VC, right? Right?!?!?!? And they don't have anything to lose anyway.
true. publishers do hold a big part of porting and such. if that's the case though, Rare was simply a developer. i don't think they published any of their games, which would mean that someone else owns the rights to all of those games Rare made, whether it be DK64 from Nintendo, Goldeneye from Activision or Acclaim, or whatever the case.

hmmm...some research is needed on this ASAP

Nintendo doesn't own the rights to Sonic either, but he's still on the VC along with many other 3rd party games. i'm not leaving anything out anymore, especially when it comes to Nintendo

Yeah but those other 3rd party companies aren't owned by Microsoft like Rare is.

And you know how Microsoft can be sometimes.

If i were Billy Gates I wouldn't want to release those games on Nintendo's platform either. I'd be using my own XBox Live Arcade to do that! I hope the don't, but i wouldn't blame them if they did keep Rare-specific titles from the VC.

I want "Snake Rattle and Roll" from the NES...I know it sounds weird, but I used to play that alot. I have the cart on NES...but it doesn't play so well anymore and I very rarely hook up my NES.

If you never played it, it is an isometric platformer...that is insanely difficult. Fun times for me ^_^

If they were able to release it on XBLA, because even though Rare made Goldeneye, Activision holds the 007 rights.

Its just one big mess! Lol.

Rare needs to come back to Nintendo. Besides Perfect dark they have been busy on Kameo, Viva Pinata and now a new Banjo Kazooie. Hmmmm.....we are leaving Nintendo so we can make the games we want without restriction but all the games will be geared towards children but fun for everyone. So lets put them on Microsofts platform where children and families run rampant playing. Come back to Nintendo Rare, all will be forgiven and their will be much rejoicing. Everyone is allowed one ultimately retarded decision.
I don't think Rare will be the same again.
Battletoads and Conker's Bad Fur Day. I never played CBFD, but I hear it was one of the funniest games ever. Plus, that girl squirrel looked hot.
The two original Rare founders left Rare like last week because they said microsoft screwed the company up basically. So no Rare wont be good at all anymore.

Snake Rattle N Roll was another fun quirky game I liked as well. Forgot all about that one but yeah it's good too.
