I gotta say no. I was one of those people who wanted the Wii to cost less ($199 - $229) without the forced pack in. I've had fun playing it but unless it would've came with a free remote/nunchuk/wii points card/[insert accessory here] like WiiPlay I wouldn't have bought it.

in fact, i bet i am still playing Wii Sports wayyy after beating rayman, zelda, wario, excite truck, etc.

I would pay $20-$25. While it is very good and it was the perfect introductory game, its just not as tight as a retail game should be in my opinion.
i do love it though, and i do more fitness tests now, 2 months after i bought it, then when i did initially.

I honestly would of rather seen more advanced versions of each game on their own. The only game that feels complete to me is bowling.
Baseball should of had real teams, fielding, and more pitches.
Tennis should of let you move your player and swing
Bowling could of made a setup for a career with teams and stuff...but its done nicely.
but you get my point...otherwise i would think it should of been like $30, or a combo like Wiiplay for $50 w/ a remote! So the games really only $10. hehe

And Soccer. That is for sure.

I was just using the Wii Sports games with Mario in front of the name (Nintendo
woo!) but yeah, Mario Soccer as well.
And to answer the question, no I wouldn't buy Wii Sports on its own. No way, its better than it was packaged with the Wii. Its fun for short stints of gameplay.

i agree with LemonMan about all the Mario spin offs. each one of these games, along with many many others, has a lot of potential. Horse shoes for one, Frisbee, countless other sports. I also see potential for sports like i just mentioned that have not really seen much commercial coverage.

And any of them that don't become full games, will become minigames in Mario Party.

Wii sports was not released in japan bundled with the Wii, yet wasnt it the most bought game there?

Oh... I see.

Absolutely. I've played Wii sports more than any other game so far, and I can easily see myself loading it up years down the road for a game of bowling or golf. It's also a great party game because people can generally pick it up pretty fast even if they've never played before.

I'd buy it, not sure at full price thougg. It would have been worth it, as I've easily played Wii sports more than any other game (other than Zelda), and it'd be close between Zelda and Wii Sports.

Wii Sports did what it was intended to do, get non gamers playing games. My father plays Wii bowling with me all of the time now. As well as a few other friends who don't really play games, and ALOT of girls like it too.

I would not have bought it. Wii Sports is great as a bonus/demo game and I am gald Nintendo included it with the system. However, it is definitely not a $50 game - perhaps a $20 game at most.
I also doubt that the Wii would have been less than $250 had Wii Sports not been included. Therefore, I view it as a free bonus.

The Wii was going to be $250 anyway. That was the price point BEFORE Wii Sports was announced as a pack in...

If I could only get one game at launch and Wii Sports wasn't bundled.
I'd buy Zelda 9 out of 10 times, and that tenth time I'd be drunk.
Wii Sports is great, but in my eyes not worth the individual sale.

I'd of bought it and would have done so on my own free will. Also I couldn't have talked my other half into letting me buy it if she hadn't tried the game and fell in love with it herself.
