I just recieved the replacement strap for my extra Wii-mote today. The replacement for my first was identical to the dangerous straps, except the small thread was thicker. The second replacement is entirely different. The strap part is bigger, the plastic slides are totally changed, and the small thread seems even a little larger. I'll try and get some pictures later.
so, do you think I should risk ordering four more straps from nintendo.com,aside from the v.2 ones I recieved, and see if they ship me the v.3 straps?
why dont they just put duct tape around the whole darn thing and get it over with....thats what v.10 is going to be at this rate...people are just stupid for throwing them when they have straps, and relying on them to begin with. just because its there doesnt mean u can let go, its kind of like a rail on the side of a mountain for streets, yea its there, but dont test it, because the next car that crashes there might not be held by the rail....
I swear, some people must bathe in butter or something. The remote is pretty easy to keep in your hands.
I've never had any problems with the Wiimote slipping out of my hand and 2 of my Wiimotes have the V1 string on them and still going. The only reason the 3rd one has the V2 string is because I bought it later after they changed the string.
However, there is one mini-game (not sure what to call it) on Wario Ware where you have to let go of the Wiimote so that it's like a bungie or something. Still, doesn't happen enough to break the string though.
I just got my Wii Sunday, so is it safe to assume that it came with the latest round of straps they have released?
Totally depends when they got it shipped in. I mean you should be able to tell, your strap is BIG.
Well, Nintendo is just makeing the wrist strap even stronger and safer, for, you know, those people who...
bathe in butter
But really, I think some people forget to tighten the wrist strap, thats what my friend did, I gave him the Wiimote, he was about to play boxing, then I said, "Aren't you going to tighten the wrist strap?" and he said, "You can tighten it? Didn't know that!, Cool!" |-_-|"
there was a news article about this somewhere...
If you got your Wii on sunday, it would depend on when the company got them in as to whether or not they came with the latest versions of the straps or not. To be quite honest though, I still have the original straps that came with the controllers I bought at launch, and I have yet to have one snap on me. You'll definitely be able to tell the difference between the newer ones and the two older versions...
i am going to stick with the version 2 of the wrist strap. i don't see the problem with it
Ahhh, they took up the Wii and Nintendo Logo. Now they look generic. I'll stick with what I have unless they snap. I prefer V1 or V2.
i still dont understnad what anyone could be doing for their strap to break. ok maybe if you are gettin into the game but if you are being excessive like waving your arms around doing things that you know dont need to be done then you are just plain dumb.
the sliding thingy(sorry! bad word) on the strap I currently have does not hold tight on my arm and always slides loose.
Yep, same here but it hasn't caused me any problems though.
Hey all, I got a Wii on Sunday along with my brother. The new straps with the remote are the beefier variety. They don't look like generic brand. They appear to be exactly like the launch v.1 strap. I have a v.1 remote from christmas to compare it to.
