Well first, you absolutely COULD NOT have any of the main characters playable (except for maybe the mods), and.... ah, hell- just read the first two pages of the forum.

PLEASE don't let this thread be dead!!!!
Anyway, if this game is made, I'd drink to that!

Square Enix is already working on a MMORPG for the Wii based on the Mana franchise.
Forget Zelda.
Forget Zelda.

A zelda mmorpg would be the greatest game spin-off ever! especially if your could be a geurodo (is that how u spell it?)

I don't think it would work. A WW version would though... No age restrictions, cute characters, easy gameplay, I see a Wind Waker version definitely working.

I'm back!!! And I still maintain that this could still be an awesome game!

Wow that was mega bumpage.
I still have doubts about a Zelda MMORPG. The only way it could is if you could STOP people making themselves look like main characters from the game.

We've been over this- the only way it could work is if no one looked like or was named after the main characters in the series. Except maybe the mods to show a special class or something.

I thinked about a while ago...and I thinked about that 1 Char a Server can be Link or something like that with Special Abilties....and you have to beat him to become him. That woud add a few new game aspects I think....

i think its a good idea but i think the story would have to be a little different. basically the zelda games up to now have made it clear that a new "Link" will appear pretty much whenever Gannon does...
i imagine they'd have to make it a game set in the LOZ universe, but between Links. perhaps something like Gannon is trapped in another world or somehow sealed away(as is common in LOZ games), and perhaps his minions are trying to gain power to free him(sort of like LOZ 2 i guess). but in the meantime, with no apparant hero to save Hyrule, other adventurers take up arms against the threat of Gannons supporters. maybe throw in a cameo of a young innocent Link, or include evidence of an upcoming hero link's adventures in the various dungeons and what not.

I think it would be amazing. There are enough races and giving the choice to be on Gannons side would give it an interesting twist and draw more players in. About making characters too much like characters in earlier Zeldas... easy, do what WoW did, make those names unavailable, and dont give appearence choices too similar to those characters, we all know people will still make them look close to them, but they wouldnt be exact.
