This guy from Philadelphia, PA (USA), went from 181 pounds to 172 in just 6 weeks of playing 30 minutes of wii sports every day, without changing any other habits such as eating.

Looks like the wii is turning into another form of exercising!
I actually read this earlier and thought about posting it, but I wouldn't be surprised to see more success stories in the future. Games+Weight Loss= Another +1 for Nintendo.
I've thought about trying it but I never get around to it, must like real exericse >.<
he must have been pretty lethargic before, cant imagine the little movement involved making that much of a difference to rest of us
The exercise intensity all depends on how you play. If you use big movements on every punch, then it is a great exercise. If you just flick the wrist to throw a punch, that's not exercise at all.
Yeah my wife say she wants to try to use that exercise since she's pregnant. What i wanna know is where did he get that Old stlye wii nintendo skin at? Yeah it was a kool experiment also

When I started exercising (building muslce), one thing I noticed was my weight stayed pretty level. I fluctuated by 5-10 pounds in college on a daily basis, but when I started lifting/running, my weight at most fluctuated 2 pounds. I also stayed on the low end of my weight spectrum while hearing others say I look bigger and healthy. I was always told I'm too skinny throughout college, and now that I weigh less I'm told I look ok. I should start exercising again, my abs are turning back into a belly, lol.
Sweet story. I actually thought about this the other day while sweating and boxing. Finally, exercising I can do in my apartment that I enjoy. I'm pretty intense too in WiiSports. I swing like I mean it. That's probably why my arm KILLS this morning.
That's cool, but I run and play basketball on a very regular basis...plus i'm young

Yeah, this combined with DDR are great ideas for combining gaming with fitness.
In both cases, once you get good enough, you can scale back the difficulty levels and add some weighted clothing (wrist weights generally, but also weighted vest/belt or ankle weights), and slowly progress back up the difficulty levels, regaining your past speed with new resistance.
Hey not a bad idea there tyciol.
*alex goes off to make a wii work out plan....and find wrist weights*

yeah, I also have my share of sports and play tennis twice a week and soccer just about every day. But for those who only play videogames all the time I guess can still exercise

lol yeah I don't have that much use for that plan. But it would be fun anyways.

Im skinny enough as it is, maybe i should just keep being a coach potato and go with a 360 instead

jk, still getting a wii (dont know when that will be though)

Nah, what you should do is eat more, to be less skinny, and then have a wii-sports-workout to turn that extra food into abs

not sure how much playing wii will affect your abs.
Sit-ups maybe.
And I would hesitate to change eating habits unless you really look into nutrition.
