Redmond (WA) - Even though millions of consumers are still waiting to get their hands on a Wii, Nintendo is going to be putting some units aside to ship to Six Flags amusement parks across the country, with a new partnership enabling the Wii to have dedicated sections for kiosks and playable demos at the parks.

Beginning later this year, the Wii will be making its mark on select Six Flags locations, earning the designation "the official gaming console of Six Flags." The locations, which include parks in New York and California, will sport game playing stations that allow park-goers to experience the unique style of the Wii, which is key for Nintendo to show off its potential to consumers after the hardcore gaming crowd is fully accounted for.

"This agreement with Nintendo enables us to partner with a company, and a product, that has major relevance in the lives of today's families. When this audience is not in our parks, more often than not they are at home playing video games -- and now they can do both in one place as we continue to build Six Flags into a supermarket of entertainment," said Six Flags president and CEO Mark Shapiro.

The Wii, which has sold more that two million since its debut on November 19, is still in very short supply, with virtually all new shipments not staying on store shelves more than a few hours before they are sold out again. Key accessories like the Wii remotes are also nearly impossible to find, as Nintendo works around the clock to crank out as many units as possible.

Do you mean you plan to break into the park and steal one? Because they are not for sale. Or did you just not read the first post and thought for some reason that Six Flags would be selling them??

I so miss Six Flags. I miss all amusement parks for that matter since we've only got a mini one here and it sucks. I used to always get the season pass tickets for Six Flags. I wouldn't waste my time waiting in lone to play the Wii though, even if I didn't already have one.
Some people would stop and watch what the people doing swinging the Wiimote around and their curiosity would make them want to try it.
I dunno. It's still surprising to me that people have not seen/tried the Wii yet. They are selling like crazy so you'd think that at least someone you know has one that you could try. Also, the price to go to Six Flags nowadays is so high that I wouldn't want to waste any of my time watching people play. I'd much rather ride the coasters as much as I could before they closed.

<_> I dont feel like reading all that....some1 breakdown that?

Nintendo has struck a deal with Six Flags to put up demo booths in their park so people can play them. Which my images show Wii is at six flags now.

There are those people out there.

I want to go and see how many people get beat in the head with a Wiimote and/or a Nunchuck. Big Grin

1st Your right about Cedar Point...it kicks Six Flags around something fierce...I live about 1 hour and 30 min away from there.

2nd If you go to a theme park to play video games, then your really...well...something else. I mean the one day your parents get off their dead butts to take you someplace and you just wanna do the same thing you could do at home...pathetic.

Not everyone has a Wii at home. Besides, they're probably not there playing it for the whole day. More like 10-15 minutes out of their day that they would spend waiting in a line anyway.
It will most likely boost the Wii's popularity. School time for me! @_@
