It's here a day early
I cant wait to see if this is going to be something Im going to use...or if its going to be a throw away like the weather channel.
UPDATE: Ok, so the news channel is sweet! I will be the first to admit it that I wasn't sure this would do it for me, but its just better reading the news...that you want to read. And the headlines are laid out so well.
When you update your Wii today...or this weekend, get the News Channel you go in to a welcome screen, kind of colorful...music, nothing that I really expecting in terms of a news channel. I was thinking boring and dull, but someone Ninty makes News...fun...engaging...all of those good things for us young folk.
Now you get to browse by section. You have a similar style to Wii Weather, but laid out a bit nicer at the beginning. Scrolling through the list, there are categories like: National, International, Sports, Arts/Entertainment, Business, Science/Health, and Technology.
After selecting a category, you get the listing of News articles. Some have pictures, some don't. Some have more text in their heading and point over top that will scroll marquee style through the heading.
A button on a heading or image and you are taken to that article. You then can scroll through the article, use the + - to increase text size and also click on the image to zoom in and get a closer look. Kind of interactivey...
Next to the image is a globe which is where the fun can be. You can click on the globe and now the article image or news icon is floating over the select cities. There is also a number showing how many articles are related to that area. Obviously major cities get the most news hits. Just like Wii Weather, you can zoom in, hold and spin and rotate and all that jazz...so much fun...playing with the News.
You also have a slide show option that basically randomizes the headlines for you and at any time on the globe images you can click and bring up that article by pressing A.
That is my update. Now for a look at the weather...BRRRR!
