IGN released some interesting Wii 2007 predictions from info that they've recieved. From New System colors to Nintendos Number Two Global position in the video game industry.

IGN Wrote:
January 26, 2007 - In just about two months, Nintendo has sold through almost four million Wii units, a few million games, and 1.5 million Virtual Console titles. Not a bad start for a little white console that many initially argued lacked the horsepower to compete with the big boys. With an original lineup of software married to an innovative new controller, Wii has already become a worldwide success story, not to mention both the hottest holiday must-buy and the most sought-after gadget in the new year. Indeed, even as some shipments of PlayStation 3s sit untouched on retail shelves today, Wii systems sell out the moment they come in. And the momentum hasn't slowed yet.

Clearly, Wii's launch couldn't have gone smoother, but what about 2007? What can gamers look forward to from Nintendo and third parties through the remainder of the year? There are some obvious answers, including the arrival of the first Wii online games around the globe, new Wii Channels, more third party support than a Nintendo home console has seen in years and big hits from established and new franchises. You don't need us to predict all of that.

We do, however, have some predictions for Wii this year. Some of these are straight up guesses - call them educated wishful thinking, if you want - and others are based on details we already know. Of course, even with that being the case, something that is true today may prove false tomorrow and hence we ask that readers refrain from taking any of our predictions as a form of fact.

This is simply the intro, to read the juicy details check out the article here.

Wow! read the whole thing, hope some of those things come true!
I read it too. Sounds cool. Especially the Black Wii. To bad I already have a White one. Sad
I would really like a red wii... but I dont want to wait for it to come out lol
The black wii is pretty cool but i would rather have a white one.
Still waiting for lime green.
*reads title* what WHAT W-H-A-T, WHAT?!?! *reads intro* ok, more reading *reading the juicy stuff right now*...*finishes reading* well, the wireless Nunchuck and black Wii still interest me, I already have a Wii, but black Wii mean black Wii motes and Nunchucks, so that hopefuly means I can buy a black Wiimote and a black wireless Nunchuck! Yey!
Ya, most of this stuff really caught my eye and I really hope some of there predictions come true as most of them sound like there pretty confident it will because of some of their un-mentioned sources. Should be interesting year all in all. Big Grin
can't wait for the new pikmin game. i absolutely loved the first two.

In a rather shocking revelation this weekend, an anonymous Nintendo rep revealed to GameDrift that a plan is running through the pipeline to colorize the, as of now, rather bland coloration of its hit console, Wii. The rep did not reveal detailed specifics, however did remark that a red and black console have been confirmed.

But no blue? Sad Come on Nintendo, give us blue.

Depending on who you talk to, the delay is 1) to add an online mode (which we hope is not true)

WTH is their problem?!

I thought the same thing when i read that about MP3. Adding a good online multiplayer is just a bonus for what we know is going to be an awesome single player mission.

With all the issues people have had with the nunchuck, this is good response by Nintendo to deliver a wireless nunchuck. I, however, have seen no problems with my wired nunchucks, that would warrant paying for new ones unless I have to, then paying for additional batteries, and a heavier nunchuck out of it all.
I think IGN is mostly worried that MP3's multiplayer could end up sucking as badly as MP2's.
What interests me most about that article is the bit where they talk about revives of long-AWOL series. They've aluded to games they were really excited about, but couldn't speak of before, and i think this falls into that category. From hints I've noticed from different articles and the fact that he appears in smash brawl, I'd put my money on Kid Icarus revival.
This probably came about due to some gameplay ideas that were developed due to the wii. Specifically gameplay exploring how flight would work on the wii. We might even be able to see this or another revival by the end of the year. Also i agree that a new pikmin is a good possiblity given the wiis controls.
Oh yeah, and another possibility for a revival: Punch Out! I'd love to see that one! A really solid, reactive boxing game.. mmm.
And maybe MarioPaint wii?
