i know i havent posted in a while, but i just found this on
IGN . i havent checked it out yet to confirm, but i will, that will make a lot of people very very happy

Funny thing, I'd rather have contra 3

I love mario kart, but double dash spoiled me and I'm not sure if I could go back (though 64 had better battle areas)
Is Double Dash still worth getting even if I'm getting MK64 today? I'd need to buy a couple GCN controllers too, but I would probably do that anyways. How much are older GCN games going for these days, anyways?
YES doubledash is an amazing game. 64 is cool, but when it comes to Mariokart, double dash...at least until a Wii version comes out, is KING.
If I had some gamecube controllers, I would've bought Double Dash, but 64 will hold me over until one comes out for the Wii.

see, that's where you're wrong. DD was ok, but it never expanded on 64's ideas and i hate two character karting. the original was amazing, and i still like to play it for nostalgia. for me it goes 64 -> DS -> Super -> DD.
Well, still witing for OoT to come out.
I've played this on the N64 recently and I downloaded it from the VC tonight. I think I'll be playing it a lot pver the next few days.
I think I love all versions of Mario Kart and can't wait for a Wii version to come.
I'll probably download it anyways because I love Mario Kart 64.

the way i see it, double dash is like playing MK64 with better graphics. mk64's pixels make me cringe a little. i think i'll get Double Dash and DS and i'll be fine to bypass MK64.
I've got it, I've played it, I don't like it. Like greenfrog said, I've been spoiled by the greatness that is Double Dash!! and DS. If you've already got some GameCube controllers lying around spend the extra $10 to $20 on Double Dash. You'll enjoy it far more than Mario Kart 64. Trust me.
Double Dash > Mario Kart DS > Mario Kart 64
I've never understood the people who live in the past and believe that the newer version of a game will never be better than an older one. Double Dash gave you better levels, better drift/slide control, better items, more characters, selectable karts, more replay value, etc. The nostalgia was nice and it was cool revisit a game from my childhood (I remember playing a bunch of multiplayer races with my neighbor on the SNES and N64) but there's no doubt that DD is king. I want my 1000 Wii points back so I can get Super Mario World, Zelda or F-Zero.
